Price This is a great lens. It has for it's numbers of glasses less failoff, an excellent distorsion in comparison to the Sigma and is extremly fast. Don't mind about the size, with the F5 or F100+grip it is well balanced and feels like a tank. The sharpness at 2.8 i expected to be better but don't await miracles. Strength:
The lens is extremely clear and fast. The internal motor for focusing works fast and accurate.
Weakness:
Not a problem but an observation. When one steps up to the Nikon ED class of lenses, one must be prepared to carry a lens that is both larger and heavier. The Nikon ED lenses in general and this 28-70 Nikon ED Zoom in specifics opens up the user to a whole new level of quality in their output. Customer Service Nikon offers a free extended warranty by simply returning the registration card within 10 days of purchase. Clearly an act worth the time.
