Strength:
Light, sharp, contrasty, affordable
Weakness:
None I bought an N65 to take backpacking. It's light enough to take to the high and beautiful places, cheap enough that I won't cry (too long) if it gets wrecked and compatible with the rest of my Nikon gear. The 28-80 lens was in a package deal, I planned to toss it in a drawer and carry 24mm & 50mm primes. I just got back from a two-week tour of the Maritime provinces where weight had been an issue for me and I had just taken the 28-80. I didn't have to look at the fourteen rolls of film that came home with me very long to know that this lens is a keeper. Several of the shots from this trip I regard as personal bests. I don't care what it looks like, I don't care what it's made of, I don't care what it sounds like, I can take it where I'm going without breaking my back and go home with great photographs. Strength:
Light-weight
Weakness:
Poor contrasts I bought a Nikon F65 with this lens bundled into the deal. My initial half dozen or so films with this lens actually tainted my view of the camera(!). The results were not at all sharp and the colours and contrasts were poor even with Fuji Reala film. I have just upgraded to a Nikkor 28-105 and the improvement is staggering, I'm now happy with my F65. Customer Service None required Similar Products Used: Nikkor 28-105 |
