Strength:

Light, quick focussing, focus hold button on side can be given different functions on 7 & 800, good f range, nice close focus (but, like many other lenses NOT a "macro")

Weakness:

focus ring not easy to use manually, front element rotates when focussing, being greedy I would have liked closer focussing capabilities

A fine lens, bought this as a light telezoom. Doesn't have the apparent "cult" following of the older f4 version but still a fine lens. I had the f4 version before this and I honestly can't tell the difference, I'm sure many people harp on about how wonderful certain lenses are because its the "thing to do".

Customer Service

never needed it although Bernard & Paul at Minolta technical help are always spot on and always eager to advise / help
