Strength:
Inexpensive. Fairly compact.
Weakness:
Slow, no USM, cheap feel, poor sharpness, smaller focal range compared to similar lenses. I only owned this lens for two weeks before trading it in for the 75-300 USM (which I'm also not crazy about). Bottom line is only buy this lens if you want the extra focal range without spending much cash (should be able to buy it used for next to nothing).
