Strength:
Sharpness
Weakness:
Small Maximum Aperture This is a Sharp, lens with a very low price, ok it is an old design, with a very noisy, rotating front element (that makes it a pain to use a polarizer), that has trouble focusing on low light levels, but did I say it before? IT IS SHARP!. Customer Service not needed yet Similar Products Used: Canon 28-105 3.5-4.5 Usm |

EF 100-300mm f/5.6L
Strength:
Light weight, very good optics at a remarkable price, lens hood included!
Weakness:
Slow focus, clumsy zoom design, focal stop at 5.6 only, required fast films to maintain handheld I've heard this lens is going to be replaced. It would be a pity because I don't think its successor can be anything cheaper and more value for money. Customer Service well built, no broken experience Similar Products Used: 75-300 IS, 28-105, 50(1.8) |

Noice (if you use Nikon or Minolta, you won't know the different), rotating front. A ""L"" lens for less than $500, what a bargain. Lens is shape all the way to 300mm. Solid built. Customer Service none Similar Products Used: 100-300 Tokina, Canon |

Strength:
Sharp, cheap.
Weakness:
AF sucks, noisy, f5.6 Adorama is dumping this lens. 'L' lens for under $500, very good value. For sample images see my postings at www.photocritique.net. If you have money go for 100-400L IS(for a casual photographer spending over $1k for camera equip is insane in my opinion). 300mm still way too short for small birds. Very Inexpensive, L-Quality Glass and Performance
Weakness:
Older design, a little "clunky" and slow autofocus. A teriffic bargain. Top quality performance in an "L" lens for under $350. Super sharp, contrasty. This is a keeper. Customer Service no need Similar Products Used: Sigma 70-300 APO Macro |
