Strength:

Build quality (why don't they make 'em like this anymore?) Image quality Value

Weakness:

Weight? A bit heavier than the Canon FD equivalent.

Originally I bought this lens for my Canon AT-1 to hike with, seeing as I prefer primes to most zooms in my shooting. I was definitely impressed with the image quality from this lens on both print and slide film. It's built extremely well (all metal), focusing is silky smooth, and the sharpness and contrast is right on. A steal on the used market.

Strength:

Small,compact, reasonably priced

Weakness:

The Om version has too small "ears" for depth of field which makes this function inconvenient to use

Good lens for the money, sharp and little distortions. Colors are saturated and snappy

Customer Service

In need of a good cleaning. Dust seems to get easily inside the lens

Strength:

Well made, a frequently used Wide Angle, sharp, contrasty, light, compact. Passes for OEM.

Weakness:

Slight pincushion distortion, slight flare, aperture ring a bit stiff.

A must have lens. Tired of mushy and heavy zooms I've been replacing them with primes. Tokinas have always proved excelent value and this one is no exception. The small number of elements (5 in 5 groups) make it a very contrasty lens but at the same time it's very sharp and well corrected. Negligible distortion, very little flare. Size appearance and weight are very similar to the Nikkor counterpart.
