DESCRIPTION

Short telephoto macros have always been coveted by photographers for their excellent compromise-they make great closeup shots and are a competent portrait lens as well. The 100mm focal length works well for both applications, giving extra working distance for macro shots(to offer more working distance for skittish subjects) as well as creating pleasing compression for portrature. The deeply-recessed front element is well shielded enough to render a lenshood moot.
