Strength:

This is an amazing lens for high-magnification macro. But it does take some technique and some work. It really excels at flat artwork, such as coins and stamps, because it is super-sharp edge-to-edge, but I have also done seashell macro with appropriate f-stop for depth of field. It is super convenient to use on the Olympus Telescoping Extension Tube, and in this case, has an automatic aperture with film cameras.

Weakness:

The short focal length enables extreme magnification, but at the cost of reach. So this is not a good "critter" lens, unless you put them in the refrigerator first. :-)

Model Reviewed: OM-Zuiko 38mm f2.8 Macro

Strength:

- Automatic aperture
- Fast f 2.8
- Resolution and contrast

Weakness:

refraction at F11+ (any lens would have this)

Combine it with variable auto-tube 65-116 and T28 and you get easy and very high quality macro work handheld!

None have the Auto-aperture!
