A creative and original effects lens. The effects depends on the photographer and how they use it, so it goes back to the old school talent/inspiration. Beyond that it's a no-brainer, just move the lens around until you see something you like and press click. A lot of fun pictures can be had with enough practice.

Better results can be had with a camera that can meter with manual focus lenses, otherwise you're guessing at exposure.

My example I have to stop down the lens a lot and press in on it very hard to get a central spot in focus. Yes, I know plastic lens and all that, but some of my early shots were all haze.

Uses an odd method of setting the aperture by dropping in discs retained by a magnet. This is likely a design issue as there's not a practical way to insert a standard iris, but it is unusual and you have to be careful not to lose the discs.

There's no tool included for removing the lens (I assume it comes with the replacement lenses).

The Muse is a follow on to the original Lensbaby design, replacing it with one that is simpler but also allows interchangeable lenses. It's a very fun lens to play with for effects photography, that's also about all it's good for.

Basically it works by mounting the lens on a plastic accordion tube, you bend and compress it to find the "sweet spot" where things are in focus and the rest of the image distorts in depth of field/haze/whatever to give an artistic effect.

Lenses are available in glass, double glass, plastic, and pinhole. I opted for a plastic lens in mine to get the "Holga" effect.

They're 50mm in focal length and come in mounts for all the popular cameras.
