    Strength:

Optics are gorgeous, both in looks and performance. DOF scale on lens makes hyperfocal shooting a breeze. This is a great focal length for many applications, and it's near non-existant distortion performance makes it ideal for indoor gatherings of medium to large groups, near-far landscape compositions, general people shooting- truly a lens for all seasons. I own 3 Hexanons with my RF. If I could only take one lens, it would be this one.

    Weakness:

The only problem in using this focal length for many subjects is you really need to know how to USE this focal length. You need to GET CLOSE, and you can with this lens and not worry about the scene going way outta whack, look-wise. The more I use this lens, the less it comes off my Hexar RF.

Superb handling lens with great "feel" to all controls- excellent traditional DOF scale for easy zone focusing and a nice, included, round and vented lens hood to not only aid in flare control, but is a good protector of the front element. First class lens all around in performance too. Little to no distortion and very low falloff in wide-open shooting. Build and optical quality of this and all KM-Hexanons for the Hexar RF is exceeded by no one, and I mean NO ONE. Kudos to Konica for going to this extreme to make such a quality camera and set of lenses.

Don't anticipate it with these lenses.

    Strength:

A good balance of high detail, low distortion and rich contrast (not merely "snappy"). Like all M-Hexanons, focusing is fluid-smooth and predictable, build quality excellent (something we used to take for granted with cameras and lenses).

    Weakness:

Not exactly cheap (but cheaper than you-know-who).

The best wide-angle lens I've used (which might be a bit unfair, since most of the others I've used were for SLRs which are often compromised in design for SLR use)
