    Strength:

Powerful. I can't stress this enough. If you've got less than 20' from lights to backdrop, get some good diffusers otherwise you'll have to bracket your exposures waaayyy down. Compact kit & lightweight, good price & accessories are reasonable priced (softbox, barndoor, filters, etc.). Flashtube pops in & out (user replacable) & you can use a regular 100 watt soft bulb as a modeling light. AC plug in is convenient & doesn't overload household socket.

    Weakness:

    1. Instruction book is 8x10 single page triple folded leaflet. Would have liked to have seen better instructions, especially on troubleshooting. 2. Flashtubes are pretty expensive ($60 each). 3. Carry case is nice & pretty big but light stands do not completely fit & allow you to zip up. About a foot sticks out & looks unprofesional when you show up for a location shoot. Wish the bag had been longer but very sturdy & heavily padded. 4. This goes back to the instruction booklet, having trouble getting fill to sync with main. Shooting w/Nikon D100, have hotshoe sync adapter. Plug sync cord into main & slave fill, fill doesn't fire. Plug sync into fill & slave main, main doesn't fire. Fuses are o.k. Have tried all options (husband is in pro video, he's tried too) & the cheapest/easiest alternative we found is to get a "y" adapter & extra audio mic cord from R Shack (email me for model #'s, about $10 for both) & sync to both lights. Works fine now but inconvenient. Better instruction booklet!!!

Good buy for the money. Got the 6400 2 light kit including umbrellas, 9' stands & carry case. Extremely powerful flash heads for use in a smaller studio, using mostly at 1/8th-1/4th power for a 20' size room. Fast recycle time, lightweight, kit is easily portable. Very easy/quick to set up (15 minutes once unpacked). Plugs into wall so no expensive battery pack is needed (unless you just want one or do location shots w/no outlet).

    Customer Service

Husband has bought all his pro video equip through B&H & refuses to buy elsewhere. They are closed more holidays than normal businesses but their selection & quick email responses make up for it. Send for the catalogs, you'll be drooling (& BROKE...lol)! :)
