Strength:

Nice size LCD accurate very inexpensive easy to use.Two year warranty.

Weakness:

Made of very cheap fragile plastic. For a couple of dollars mre you can buy a sekonic weatherproof meter with woreless upgradeability and a three year warranty.

This meter is accurate and easy to use but it is made of very fragile cheap plastic. I cannot recommend it to the pro that will use it alot. It is not weatherprof which is a big problem for me. Yes it is very cheaply priced but it is also cheaply constructed. I guess you get what you pay for.

Customer Service

no experience with service but i am going to send it back for a sekonic.

Strength:

Accuracy, Affordable, Easy to use, Large display,

Weakness:

Mentioned in other posts, I am aware of the costruction making one feel that this unit is more vunerable. I have adjusted to this by always remembering to wear a shirt with a front pocket for more protection. Given the price, I dont mind at all.

Purchased Polaris light meter from Ebay in mint condition after recommendation from a local photography student who owned same unit. Had a chance to compare the Polaris light meter with a much more expensive meter "Gossen Luna Star F2 at over 400 bucks" Both funtioned with same accuracy. Probably one of the best values in photography.

Strength:

Very easy operation and accurate. And the price wasnt bad either!!!!

Weakness:

Are you kiddin? The ones who say that a weakness of it is looking cheap i say this as long as its operational and accurste who cares what it looks like? Unless of course your trying to win a Flash meter beauty contest. But i havent seen any of those around

Well What can I say its great! I purchased it And used it the first time and loved it. It was less expensive than the others i looked at and just as acurate . I used a Minolta flash meter a few times and this is easier than that to operate. Great buy from the beginner to the pro.

Strength:

Least expensive full featured ambiant/flash meter.
Intuitive operation.
Small and light.
Just as accurate as the top brand-name units.

Weakness:

Cheap appearance.

I tested it against a Minolta Flashmeter and a Gossen Lunapro SBC under the exact same lighting conditions. It matched the performance of both meters - it really does give you 1/10 stop accuracy.

Customer Service

Never tried.

Strength:

Seems to be very accurate, easy on batteries, digital (easy to read). A full function meter at a reasonable price.

Weakness:

None yet, I've used this meter at least five years.

This is a very under rated meter. If you want to get the job done, and don't need a big name, but would like to save some money, get this meter. This baby will do corded (studio), & non corded flash (check your on camera flash). Works great for available light.

Customer Service

Never needed it

Strength:

Very easy to use and read. Accurate readings every time. Can check flash in corded or non-corded mode. Runs off of a single AA battery. Has a battery strength gauge you can use to check the battery with or use it to check your flashe's batteries.

Weakness:

none

Small, light weight, accurate & very easy to use.
I quickly showed my wife how to use it for when she is assisting me. She has never had a photography class in her life and has no interest in technical details of exposure and she can set it up for the right mode and read it accurately to me every time.
