Strength:
Reliable, standard AA size battery, memory
Weakness:
None Very reliable meter. Had one problem caused by dirty contact in rotating head. Cleaned the contact and bent it a little to make it a "self-cleaning-by-scraping" contact. Never had a problem since. Customer Service N/A Similar Products Used: Seconic, Gossen |

Strength:
Easy use. Rotatory head. Average cost.
Weakness:
Backlight. FIRST OF ALL I APOLOGISE FOR MY ENGLISH LEVEL THAT CAN CREATE SOME CONFUSSION IN MY REVIEW (I''LL STUDY MORE) I purchased recently this meter after working several times with professionals which used it. It´s usefull in all situations, outdoors and indoors. In studio is the best friend of the assistants who don´t have to worry about how it works the meter and can concentrate in metering. The only thing i miss is maybe two or three memories more, but nothing you can´t solve with a pencil. Some reviews miss a multilecture mode but i think this feature is not a really one, you can allways calculate a multiflash exposure by yourself. Customer Service haven''t tried yet Similar Products Used: Sekonic and Polaris meters |

Auto Meter IV F Light Meter
Strength:
I did until it broke.
Weakness:
Two year old Autometer IVF began giving innacurate readings that differed by 2-4 stops. An unreliable meter until Minolta acknowledges and fixes the problem. Customer Service I turned in the meter for service in November, paid an initial service fee of 125.00 and I still have not heard anything. The retailer has seen the same problem so many times before, he has stopped pushing the product. Similar Products Used: Gossen Luna-Star F2 |

ALL AREAS ARE INCREDIBLE
Weakness:
The only point that is weakness for some and a strengh for others is: When using in No-cord Flash mode specially in Journalism is a disadvantage will measure multi flash bursts, versus one at a time. But I don't know many Journalist that will use a Flash meter at the OSCARS or at POLITICAL EVENTS. OK THIS A 4.99 METER WITH .01. Customer Service Minolta are allways incredible at their service. Similar Products Used: If you want a cheap version you buy the Sekonic 328F or the 308. |

Strength:
Reliable
Weakness:
I don't personally like the "shutter priority" method of reading. I would like the option of setting an aperture and having the meter tell me the shutter speed without having to use the shift function. I purchased mine used, and relatively beat up, and then I used and beat it up for an additional two years and it's still accurate. What more could you ask for? Well, the afore mentioned ability to read from the aperture as well as shutter speed would be nice... 'cause I'm lazy sometimes. The accessories seem to be over priced. If you have big fingers, the buttons are a little hard to get to. Of course if they weren't then they might get changed accidentally. Customer Service Quick to respond and ship the manual. (which it turned out I didn't need since the meter was so easy to use.) Similar Products Used: Various older Gossen and Vivitar light meters. |

Strength:
Accurate.
Weakness:
5 degree spot attachment Reliable meter with basic functions. The 5 degree 5 degree spot attachment is far too expensive. 10 gedree attachment is cheaper but not good enough for critical work. I had to invest a separate, analogue 1 degree Capital spotmeter fot reflected light measurements which costs less than the Minolta spot attachment itself! Customer Service no problem so far Similar Products Used: Capital 1 degree spotmeter. |

Strength:
Small size, accurate, light weight, durrable....it has met floors and pavement several times.
Weakness:
I only wish the LCD panel could be illuminated. None other though. The onle thing in my camera bags that still say Minolta are the meters of which I own 3. I have two of the auto meters IV and a spotmeter F. They are great for my needs. They are such tough little tools that I often tell people to try one out. If you want to know about my problems with Minolta check out my reviews on the 9xi body and the 5400 HS flash. Customer Service None for these meters BUT, I have had terrible servise from the USA head quarters in New Jersey with my previous camera system....NOW IT'S CANON!! Similar Products Used: gossen luna and several other models, Minolta 3,4, and spotmeter f ...I might be a little off on these names. I don't recal at the moment. |
