Strength:
Everything! I have no complaints about this meter. What can I say. It's a Gossen! Extremely accurate.
Weakness:
None Noted This meter is a perfect companion with my meterless Nikon F2. I shoot for a couple of magazines that demand critical exposure. 95% of the time I'm doing incident readings. Just what slide films like. Bought this as "new, old stock" a couple of years ago. Came complete with everything. Put a lithium 9V in it and it will last for a very, very long time. Gossen has always been a trusted meter line. I never really liked the Sekonic line. I did however love those old Westons. Especially the Euromaster II. But then again those are selenium meters not SBC. Big difference. Anyway, it's a great meter. End of story! |

Strength:
Simple and well designed layout. Display is easy to read. Love the contrast range feature. Cine speed are great too. Can set in a filter compensation.
Weakness:
Could be smaller or flatter I obtained this meter in 1994 from a pro camera store I worked at. I was attracted to the digital readout and gossen quality. It has been a best friend for 8 years. Useful for motion picture cameras too. Customer Service Never needed it Similar Products Used: Luna Pro |

Strength:
Extremely consistent, accurate and reliable in daylight or flashlight or a combination. Quite rugged, has been on many hiking expeditions in my backpack. Gives ccurate results with the 5 degree attachment, which I hardly ever use. It is easier to simply bring the meter up close to a subject element with the required brightness. The readout is very clear and ergonomics are excellent. The sensor has a sharp cutoff, so is not misled by light outside the metering zone. Exposure compensation for filters can be measured by the meter itself, then set in the memory, a very convenient function.
Weakness:
The mark 1 version of this meter is excessively sensitive to infrared light. I do not know if the mark 2 version is the same. The excess IR sensitivity means readings are inaccurate in incandescent lighting. Also readings of green grass can be in error for the same reason. There is a non linear and therefore inaccurate response at low light levels, below EV4. This meter is marketed as the Variosix - F outside USA. This is a review of the Mark 1 version which I have used for ten years in many different situations. Customer Service Not used Similar Products Used: Gossen Sixtino 2 |

Easy to use. Never fails and is very accurate with it's readings. Small and light.
Weakness:
None I have owned this meter for over 5 years and it hasn't failed me yet. Accurate, light and easy to use because of it's small size. I would highly recommend purchasing this meter. One of the best. Customer Service Never had to use. Similar Products Used: Pentax Spot Meter |

THE METER IS VERY EASY TO USE AND THE DISPLAY IS BIG AND EASY TO READ AND UNDERTAND. NOT ONLY WILL IT READ THE AMOUNT OF NECESSARY FLASH THIS METER CAN ALSO READ THE AMBIENT LIGHT AT THE SAME TIME, MAKING TRICKY FILL FLASH SITUATONS EASY. YOU CAN ALSO COMPENSATE FOR A BELLOWS OR EXT. TUBE AND LOCK IT INTO THE METER SO YOU DO NOT HAVE TO CONSTAINTLY REMIND YOURSELF TO STOP DOWN.
Weakness:
NONE IT IS A VERY ACCURATE AMBIENT AND FLASH METER. IT IS EASY TO USE IN AND OUT OF THE STUDIO. HOWEVER, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THE SPOT ATTACHMENT. IT IS OVERPRICED AND IS ONLY A 5 DEGREE SPOT. OTHER THEN THAT IT IS A GREAT METER. I HAVE DROPPED IT SEVERAL TIMESS FROM ABOUT 10 FEET ONTO CONCRETE ROCKS YOU NAME IT AND IT IS STILL AS ACCURATE AS THE DAY I BOUGHT IT. None A fine meter that performs 100%, no matter under what kind of conditions. It measures all kinds of lghting, ambient and flash and mixed. Recommended for everyone who needs a lightmeter that can stand abuse, intended or not.
