Strength:

bounce, swivel

Weakness:

Over exposure happens when the subjuct is within 6 feet.
Dead at first accidental drop from a height of one foot (!)

It has many functions like bounce, swivel, output ratio control, manual, auto, TTL; but the weakness is unforgivable. It's not solid enough and the exposure is not very accurate.

Customer Service

isn't worth trying because of low price of the product

Strength:

Bounce, Swivel, decent range.

Weakness:

felt cheap.

I bought this flash for my Ellan IIE and after a couple of rolls of film, the camera and flash would lose their connection. All I had to do was take it off and put it right back on again and presto, the connection was back. It was not the camera, for other flashes work fine. Needless to say, I returned it to B&H within a few days.

Sunpak 433AF provides adequate power for most of the photographic needs, 120 GN/Ft ( 36 GN/M ) at ISO100 with 63-degree coverage. It’s just slightly less than the much more bulkier hand-held flash.

The most impressive part of this flash is the 90-degree Up-Down, 330-degree Left-to-Right rotated flash head. It virtually allows you to aim-n-bounce your flash in almost every possible angle. Not that many shoe-mount flashes allows you to do that.

Sunpak 433AF also support delicate flash functions to the designated cameras. It is also one the few flashes in production today that supports the original Minolta Maxxum.

This flash is fully automated. The operations of the flash is fully integrated with the camera’s computer, no adjustment is needed or allowed. All these for less than US$90. In my humble opinion, the flash worth every penny. However, for an old timer like myself, I would really like the flash to have manual mode and power ratio control.
