Strength:

Simple - anyone can use. Excellent exposures every time, provided you dont do stupid things. Bounce head. Now selling for half the price I paid for it! Cheaper and better combination of features than Pentax OEM models.

Weakness:

Pentax version is not compatible with MZ-S. Cant really blame them though as the camera wasnt around when I bought the flash. No swivel.

This is a great all rounder. No frills, No super dooper bells and whistles - it just gets on with the job and does a very good job too. Bounce is fantastic and has introduced me to a significant improvement in my portraits. IR AF assist is great too especially if your camera doesnt have one!

Customer Service

Good so far - they got an MZ-S, identified the problem and agreed to rechip it for free. Have not had it back yet though - that was just 2 weeks ago.

Strength:

Good ttl flash performance, good fill
flash, fairly light on batteries, automatic flash compensation for tilt head

Weakness:

build quality

Very good flash considdering its price. If only it would feel like a sunpak when you pick it up....Positively surprised by its performance in ttl mode as well as in manual mode.

Strength:

Good TTL system and zoom function. Gives great results as a fill in flash and reasonable as full flash. Tilt head automaticaly alters power output depending on angle of tilt. Built in seperate AF light.

Weakness:

Plasticy and no side to side swivel. Non existant manual.

Good bang for the buck. Not good enough for pro use but more than adequate for normal use. TTL function works superbly, better than minolta's own.

Strength:

Flash is very easy to operate, has all features.Proud label “made in Japan”, nice soft bag.

Weakness:

Plastic body, weak plastic mount, plastic scroll wheel feels very cheap. Operating manual extremely brief. It died after fourth discharge and I send it back.

It is my first flash and it seems to be not last.I was expect to get something better then dummy piece of plastic for $140
Poor value, worth not more then $80. Not a suitable flash for a professionals.
I didn’t see those two pictures I was able to shot using this flash yet. Hope it will be better then flash it self.

Strength:

Dig the zoom head! High guide number, tilt head. Very reasonable price for all the features.

Weakness:

None.

Although I do mostly landascape photography, but when there were needs for the use of a flash such as portraits or just family photos, the Sigma works excellent. The skin tones of the subjects are natural-looking even without a reflector. If you want a reasonable priced flash with great fetures. Get this one!

Strength:

Simple to operate.
Powered zoom feature.
Light weight.
TTL and bounce capability.

Weakness:

Brief operating manual.
Cheap plastic look and feel.

Not a bad flash unit for the money. This is a good flash for point and shoot photographers, who should find this flash suitable in normal use. At the least, it performs better than built-in flashes.

A great flash for the price. Light weight will let you take it everywhere. If you're looking for a full featured flash without paying designer prices, this is for you.

Strength:

Light, easy to use TTL switch. Tilts and work with exposure compensation

Weakness:

Manual brief, no swival.

I found the exposure on my unit slightly stronger than that of Nikon Flash, but can be adjusted with exposure compensation. Good bang for the buck.

Strength:

Great TTL and the meter, cover all my zoom work from corner to corner, even at the wide angle.

Weakness:

Operating manual is brief, but I managed to learn from one of the Sigma user.

I am very pleased with this flash, compare to 430-super, its a great flash, tilts, works great with my wide angle lens, what more I need from this unit according to the price I paid.

Customer Service

Never needed.

Strength:

Power for price compared to canon

Weakness:

I don't think it's 100% compatible with canon's eos.

Don't be a tight ass, spend the extra buck's and by the ef-430 super you will proberly use the extra features and it might run smoother, but for the amatuer who wants some flash power this is still pretty good.
