Strength:

• Quite powerful, and uses AA batteries.
• Great battery life, even with alkaline AAs.
• Relatively compact and lightweight.
• Light output stays absolutely constant throughout battery life.
• Small string in battery compartment makes extracting/inserting batteries easy (pull the string).
• Option to have rear LCD display backlit.
• Few controls/buttons mean easy-to-learn.
• When in the camera's burst mode, the flash will also fire 'bursts'.
• Clips securely on to the camera's hotshoe, and has a clip which can be tightened.

Weakness:

• No bounce feature on flash head.
• No swiveling feature on flash head.
• Loud sound when turned on and also while recharging.
• Exposures are sometimes over-exposed and washed out.

A nice external flash. So far, I haven't had any real problems, when on a Pentax *ist D. My camera's own built-in flash was dead before I acquired it... so can't comment on comparisions between the two flashes.

Reloading time is a little slow -- but if you reload, then turn the flash off, it will be all ready and charged when it is turned on agin (within several minutes).

I would probably reccomend this flash, works well enough and its current going price is very affordable (about $20-50USD). Not sure if it will work with newer camera models, though.

Strength:

Long battery Life Light Easy to use - Min controls (KISS)

Weakness:

Needs more punch and Bounce Head. Stands short on the flash mount and interfers with the built-in flash, so hard to use dual flash.

Exposures are right on with-in the flash range. TTL readings adjust the shutter speed to a slower speed to accommidate low light large group shots. Overall a great flash which could improve with more power.

Strength:

Small, compact, battery friendly, cycles quickly, very easy to use, Special contrat control mode that works with the camera's built in flash for 2:1 ratio that is great for portraits, Warns in subject is out of range

Weakness:

needs bounce head and a little more range

great little flash that is worth the money, it just needs a bit more range, bounce head will be nice but even with out it this flash takes great shots.

Model Reviewed: AF330FTZ TTL Power Zoom Flash

Strength:

Quick recharge, slow battery consumption

Weakness:

No tilt/swivel head.

Great flash. The best bang for the buck. This flash has never let me down. Flash strength stays constant right until the batteries give out. Have never taken a bad picture (lighting wise) since I started using it.
