Weakness:
None This is a fantastic little flash. It runs on 4 AA's, and has bounce capability and a nifty wide adapter built in. I used in on a F80, and a FE2 and it just works great! I have a SB-28 for my F100, since my F100 doesn't have flash compensation built into the body like the F80 does. This is a must for serious flash users since it won't drain those expensive F80 lithiums like the built-in flash does. Customer Service Not needed Similar Products Used: SB-28, SB-16 |

SB-22s
Strength:
This is a terrific, compact flash unit. (Speedlight) The SB-22S is a fairly new arrival to the Nikon line ... & gives Nikon one more excellent & much less expensive entry in the speedlight market. You can try lots of flashes ... before this one ... & lots of flashes after it. But, one thing holds true ... "for the money, it's going to be hard to beat the SB-22s !" It's more powerful & versatile than most of the others ... & it costs about half the price of what you'll spend on many of them. It's TTL compatible, intuitive & dependable. Plus ... it can be run "off-body" with an appropriate (optional) remote cord. And ... one of it's best features is this: It takes AA batteries ... (Just like many of the Nikon cameras) ... not those expemsive odd-ball batteries that some flashes require !!! Doesn't sound like that big of a deal ... until you start "feeding one of those other monsters $10.00 batteries in cold weather !!!
Weakness:
None. Hard to beat unit ! Compare capabilities, size, weight, cost, versatility, compatibility, etc. ... & this one will come out near the top every time. Sure, if you've got a bucket of bucks to blow ... go for the top of the line every time !!! But, if you have to stay within a budget, like most people ... & want a great speedlight ... you won't miss with the SB-22S. Customer Service No contact. Strength:
Tilt flashing, Built in 28mm defusser, easy to read range table, compact for what it does
Weakness:
It's not set high enough from your lens and sometimes you get red eye. Should be more than 6 inches from flash to lens to avoid this problem. Compact, lots of features for the money. Customer Service Never used Similar Products Used: Vivitar, Sunpak |

Strength:
Compact (fits in front dress pants pocket nicely)
Weakness:
Doesn't rotate I'm a serious amateur who shoots for art and for family snapshots. If you like to use a "serious" camera like the N90s, then you need a flash, which the N90s does not have built in. This flash complements the N90s nicely, fits snugly into camera bags Customer Service Haven't needed Similar Products Used: Quantary 7500 |

Strength:
Compact, decent guide number and controls/indicators are easy to understand and use.
Weakness:
Diffuser can pop off if not fully in place before changing bounce position. It does pop back on O.K. I bought this flash primarily for bounce capability and haven't been disappointed. A neat feature, especially for bounce, lets you know if exposure might have been insufficient, or you can test before actually taking picture. Customer Service not needed. Intruction manual is adequate. Similar Products Used: Built in flash on Nikon N60. Older manual and first generation auto flashes. |
