Strength:
1600' Range
Weakness:
can get cross-traffic from other photographers using PW's on same channel
These are great little gadgets that serve a special purpose. The bodies of the PW's are constructed of plastic and have small flexible antennas. Other radio slaves have telescoping aluminum antennas that, if I had, would be sure to break or bend.
Customer Service Haven't had to use them, but Mamiya is great! |

Unclutters your studio and location. Lets you use your imagination to its fullest, when placing your lights.
Weakness:
None One of the most important advancements in photography in recent years. No more cords running everywhere. My experience with this product and Mamiya has been exemplary. Couldn't ask for more. Absolutely a MUST HAVE for any system. Customer Service Excellent Similar Products Used: Wein |

Strength:
Works from a huge distance away. Differen't channels incase other people are shooting with them. goes through walls
Weakness:
kind of expensive, but its all worth it. It's one of the best things I have purchased. I used to use remote slaves, until I got enough money for the Pocket Wizards. Everything they say about it works perfect very far distances and it goes through walls. perfect all around Customer Service havent used it yet. Similar Products Used: remote slaves. |

Strength:
No line of sight needed, can transmit through walls. Seamless integration with the new Profoto Acute2r strobes. Good battery life. No more dealing with ever-failing PC cords. I'm still discovering all the benefits.
Weakness:
Expensive at normal retail prices. Worth every penny all the same, though. PocketWizard has made my life sooooo much easier. I bought a set of the Plus transmitter and receiver when I bought my strobes earlier this year and now that I've had the chance to work with them extensively, I don't think I could ever work any other way. Worth every penny. Customer Service N/A Similar Products Used: Wein IR slaves, which seem to be OK for the price. |

Strength:
Well made and does not cause problems, loose cords, etc. The Plus is simple and hard to make a mistake with.
Weakness:
If you need more receivers they not available. Designers evidently farm out manufacturing. When I contacted Mamiya they said they did not have any on hand which I thought strange. I called LPA (designers and claimed manufactures) and a girl answered phone and would not put me on with anyone who knew what is going on. She said they only ship once a month and had no idea when next shipment would be sent. All that does not instill confidence in the backing from such an outfit. Product is perfect but it is a professional piece and needs to be available are let pros know it is a hit and miss operaion. Great Product Overall rating very low because of the customer attitude I experienced which is always scary. Customer Service I would dread the need. Similar Products Used: Wein which does a great job but cords and connections give fits. |
