Strength:
Whilst a 550EX flashgun could also be used to trigger remote flashes, this device is a lot lighter to have attached to the camera, and it's much easier to fit in your bag.
Weakness:
A little expensive This is an excellent little device. Full E-TTL Flash off camera with no cords and the ability to set flash ratios between two groups of flashes within seconds (and without touching the flashguns). Also aids focussing in low light. |

Strength:
Compact Useful Allows lots of creativity
Weakness:
Not cheap This is a pretty fun toy to have. You can do a great deal with off camera flash and such. It works pretty well overall. I use it with two speedlites (420ex) and my Elan 7. Overall, it does what it says and not much more...is worth the money. Customer Service Not used Similar Products Used: What? |

ALL
Weakness:
None. As my work increase as a photojournalist this little gem is a true wonder! together with my Canon Rebel or D10 and a EX550 flash or EX420 it works terrific! I have made good money with it,using my beloved Canon Powershot G2(absolutely recomandable too),so im glad!its a pro product! It even improves the handling to focus on the object ! its very very good! I must say that it its worth every cent. Its in the class of a Canon EF 50 1,8 lens, the new and stunning EFs 18-55 Lens, the old EOS 650 cam and the Canon G1 & G2;simply products which give you more than you expect for less dollars. Strength:
* Light and small * Batteries last a while * Easy to operate and understand * Works awesome indoors (bounces off walls so signal travels better)
Weakness:
* Expensive batteries * Distance not far enough sometimes. * Has to be in field of view. * Doesn't work as well outdoors as indoors * I wish it could be rotated without additional equipment. * A bit costly. This is a good method for getting flash off camera. I've enjoyed this little piece of equipment since the day I bought it. It performs very well and as expected. I use it mostly just to get a single flash off camera. For that, it works perfectly. I usually use it on the end of an extension cable because it then allows me to point in any direction. Strength:
Light weight
Weakness:
Quite expensive It is a woderful device for flash photography. Without the cumbersome extension cord, I can now take off-camera flash photos easily. The unit can control two units in two channels, but actually, you can add more flashes within these two channels. Also, it can be used for helping autofocusing. This bonus is a good news especially for D30 and D60 users. Customer Service nil Similar Products Used: nil |

Strength:
No more wires to trip over when using off camera flash. Very convenient, works perfectly with EOS 3 and G-2. Allows flexibility in tight situations where wires would be a pain to have to deal with.
Weakness:
None Works exactly as advertised. On the EOS 3 with a 550EX and 420EX, I can position the flashes pretty much anywhere I want, without tripping over wires, and vary lighting ratios, bounce the flash into umbrellas, etc. to my heart's content. BONUS: undocumented feature. The ST-E2 also works with the Canon Powershot G-2. Summary: if you do a lot of flash work with EX series flashes and the EOS 3, 1V, 1D, D-60, etc. or Powershot digital cameras, just buy it. Your flash pictures will improve dramatically.
