Strength:
Color saturation
Weakness:
Lack of sharpness It exaggerates color. I wouldn't use it for portraits - imagine a person of light skin looking like just had a third degree sunburn. Would be a great film to use on a sunny October day in the countryside of New England (you'll know what I mean if you've been there during that time of the year - lots of bright red and yellow foliage). I just wish it had more sharpness like Kodak 100's. Customer Service Not needed Similar Products Used: None |

Awesome Color Saturation, Incredibly Fine Grain!
Weakness:
Not a film for portraits. A fun film. If you like super saturated colors this film is it. I love making colorful landscapes and this film delivers. Customer Service Never used Similar Products Used: Kodak Gold 100 |

Strength:
Superbly saturated colours for a striking 'Technicolor' look. Never mind the grain this film shouts at you. Great fun.
Weakness:
None unless you go against the advice of everyone who has ever commented on this film and do portraits. (want to see its true potential then look at Martin Parrs books. He uses Ultra 50 to great effect.) Fun film. Great for portraits. (Of people you hate!) Outrageous colours. Enables me to get closer to a 'Technicolor' type of look. As far removed from 'conservative, boring, restrained up-tight' Reala as it is possible to get. On sunny days pop it in a good compact camera and photograph colours and textures wherever you can. (Rusty corrugated iron, peeling paint on boats etc.) This film will deliver. I always take it in to my local 1 hour lab (Jessops UK) and it comes out great. If you want more control then use Ultra 50 120 rollfilm in 645 or 6 X 6 and use a pro-lab. I have done this using Ultra 50 in an old Rolleicord and wow! Customer Service Not needed. Similar Products Used: None come close in terms of colour. But I use Royal gold films and Kodak Supra 400 and 800. |

Strength:
The colours! Very bright, strong colours. Makes everyone go WOW! Especially with sunset and water shots.
Weakness:
Can lose some colour detail as similar ones blend. This film delivers colour above all else. It makes a scene come alive with colour that tries to jump off the print at you. It is great for landscape work, especially bright days with a poleriser. I also use it for macro work but it can be overpowering for objects of sublte colour differences. Strength:
*Amazing colour saturation
Weakness:
*company stopped production so if you can find this product grab it Very good product for landscapes and shots where you really want to capture their colour. Can cause blues to be overly dark. Quite slow but still worked very well at a variety of shutter speeds. But again this film is discontinued and becoming very hard to find. Strength:
Amazing color saturation! Probably best available of any print film.
Weakness:
Some say that this film get very grainy, and is more like a 100 ISO film. I disagree: at least in 120 medium format, it looks beautiful to me. Great film for those occasions where you need prints and want super saturation. I haven't used it in 35mm, but it seems great in 120. gross colours....yuck! i started using this film because i needed a print alternative to something like velvia. when you see the prints you get its like WOW the colours but then you compare them to REAL films like velvia, provia and the colours are GROSS ! really really disgusting rendering....oh and can people not complain about films if they are using them for the wrong application. of course this is a sh*t portrait film BECAUSE ITS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE USED FOR PORTRAITS!!! Agfacolor Ultra 50 ASA
Strength:
All I could say when I first saw my prints was whoa! The colours that are reproduced are not realistic. Almost psychedelic. It seems to be very good at livening up a scene with its rich vibrant colour.
Weakness:
There seems to be little detail in the shadows but I might try pulling it to ISO 32 to alleviate this. Some of the people have said how terrible this film is for taking portraits. Wake up, thats what portrait film is for. It says on the data sheet that it is for 'ultra high colour saturation'. It is mainly suited to landscape work or fine art. This film is NOT a general purpose film it is a purpose specific film. Similar Products Used: fuji, kodak |

Great color saturation you won't believe! Renders colorful landscapes even in a gloomy day.
Weakness:
Anybody using it to take portraits are morons! Reasonably-fine grain as long as you don't under-expose (which means you really should over-expoose a little, so the shadows are just right). The best film I've used so far, and I've used quite a few. This film is designed for landscape. Landscape, not portrait. Unrealistically pleasing colors, like Vicent van Gogh's paintings...
