Strength:

Intense color, good in overcast weather

Weakness:

difficult to find

This film has Velvia-like color, but sometimes with somewhat bluish neutrals. Reds and oranges are particularly vivid.

Strength:

This film delivers a very very high color saturation. Good for landscape and still-life objects. It delivers intense red, yellow, and blue. High contrast may be useful in some situations.

Weakness:

Due to its intense color, details are not recorded well, especially for monochromatic-colored objects, such as roses. Green is sometime shifted toward blue. The grains are acceptable at 5x7 prints, but quiet noticable at larger sizes. Its slow speed requires proper approaches.

In order to obtain excellent results, this film must be handled in proper ways. Please use a strudy tripod whenever possible, and send this film to a professional lab who knows how to handle and print this film correctly. This film is too grainy for its speed. Agfa needs to balance color saturation and details. The film has a poor ability to hold details. High color saturation may not be suitable for some applications.

In some cases maybe too flashy

This is a great film for beautiful color prints. I have tried different situations. In every situation the film was great.

Strength:

Explosive color saturation. Very fine grain structure. Enlarges to 16x20 very well. Relatively inexpensive.

Weakness:

Slow and very contrasty which isn't always a bad thing. Not good under flash lighting. Spotty availability. Also really needs to be developed at a pro lab because some mini labs futz up the process and result in ugly image and color quality.

Imagine Velvia in print form and even more saturated. If you are in to color this is a very good film. One thing I like to do is make semi-macro (1:2-1:4) photographs of interesting flowers. This film is excellent at this due to supersaturated color and fine grain. The high contrast also enhances the interesting lighting you get with side and backlit flower petals. Fuji Reala is still the best because of its versatility and true to life color, but if you want pop color, then give this film a whirl.

Strength:

Great, almost ridiculous color saturation. Fine grain, fun to play with.

Weakness:

If you shoot people with the stuff, dont expect too much...
Pretty contrasty.

When I'm shooting in dull situations, I pull this stuff out of my bag. It really adds life to a scene, but also exagerrates any colors that are already there. I took some pictures of flowers with Agfa Ultra 50, and the colors become smeared into one another. You cannot see the subtleties in the colors, for example, there is only one "red." But nonetheless a good film, and fun to use.

Strength:

THE NAME SAYS IT ALL...
ULTRA COLOR.

Weakness:

NOT AS SHARP AS I WOULD HAVE EXPECTED. AND COLORS NOT TRUE TO LIFE.

THIS FILM IS NOT FOR THE WEAK! I USED IT PRIMARILY FOR PRODUCT SHOTS OF INVENTORY WHERE I WORK. IT MIGHT BE BEST SUITED FOR LANDSCAPES, BUT NOT FOR THE KIND OF DETAIL AND TRUE COLOR REPRESENTATION I NEED. NOT THE BEST FILM I'VE USED, BUT FOR THOSE WANTING SOMETHING DIFFERENT IN A COLOR PRINT FILM. I SAY IT'S WORTH TRYING.

Strength:

A GREAT film if you want to play with color. Saturation just bursts right off the print! No other film comes close to the super, almost intoxicating color quality of this film. Fantastic reproduction of off-beat colors such as purples, magentas and aqua-blues. Take advantage of it.

Weakness:

Very contrasty, but if exploited, can become a strength. Only truly effective in full bright sun. Shade makes it flat. Forget about indoors with flash, yuck.

I LOVE this film. I took several roles with me to a number of exotic places, including Egypt and SouthEast Asia and it really makes the people, the clothing and the colorful street scenes come ALIVE. We're talking fireworks here. Everything pops right out, sometimes producing an eerie 3-D quality because of the high contrastyness. This is a special film that is not meant for everyday or "normal" photography. I wouldn't use it if I needed a "softer", more forgiving film. Definitely not for conservatives. Think of it as the LAS VEGAS of filmdom. Bright, flashy and LOUD. So stop being such a serious fuddy-duddy and get out there and have some fun with it!

Strength:

This is the only print film that I found very contrasty in addition to extreme color rendition. This is a negative film that is NEVER used for portrait works. Colors are very intense and bold. Good for abstract and still life objects.

Weakness:

It's not as sharp as I expected. It needs to be printed carefully otherwise you'll see some unpleasant color on the shadow area.

So far I only tried this film on abstract and still life objects with intense colors. I have not had a chance to take landscape which is my main object. If you are a color addict, this is the film you can't afford to miss. Looking at the contrast of this print film, I agree with some of the other reviewers. This might be a good choice for a soft lighting situation.
