I shot some films in both 35 mm and recently in 120 formats, for pictorial aiming, and it showed itself from the best side, even more dramatic effects but still with realistic impressions was gotten here when developed with higher acutance methol-hydroquinone devs, despite there is mostly recommended to use genuine technidol or third part so called "superfine" or "microfine" concentrated developers like Xtol, technidol etc. I even did some shots in Thailand and Cambodia, in day and night scenes. Once I made a series of snaps in abandoned industrials, and wown, believe me, all these cases just summarized my respect to developers of this material for their work which leds to outstanding results for us users of techPan, and my love for TP is still growing cause I know that all said before in forums about unique characteristics and exeptionality of this film is just absolutely true.

Grand photo and document duplication capabilities!

Outstanding for duplicating photographs! I very recently shot some 80-100-year-old family photographs measuring 2x2 inches, yes, 2x2 inches, with my 60mm Leica macro lens with Technical Pan in my R8 camera at the given film speed on a copy stand and, upon processing the film in Technidol and printing the negatives in my darkroom, I was astonished about what brilliance in sharpness and tonality this film captured!!! Next will be my old, old Zap comic books from the 60s which are aging horribly, for this film is recommended for document and line art duplication as well. Try it for these purposes...you'll be amazed!!

Very fine grain, excellent extremes and gradations...

For best results must use special Technidol which is designed specifically for this film. you must develop yourself.

Great when you have enough light for 25 ASA film which should not be too difficult...

Absolutely no grain, even at 16x20" from 35mm negs. Nothing else comes halfway close to TechPan in terms of grain, sharpness and tonal range.

The film is quite thin, and is not as easy to handle (loading the reel/tank) as APX-25.

Want to make large format type prints from 35mm? This is the way to go. This is one of the most beautiful films I have ever used, other than HIE. I process it in Rodinal 1:200 for 8 mins at 24 deg C, agitating once a minute - that gives me very high acutance, and a good edge effect.

finest grained, tonally impressive. Gamma can be varied easily, enlargements have authority. If available, try tetenal neofin doku developer (best I've tried with TP at nominal 50 iso). I have tp negs from ca. 1981/2 which still print beautifully. Paterson acutol is also ok (iso32) and rodinal 1+300 10mins 32 iso is effective and very economical

it goes stale very easily! keep it cool, and fresh and don't let it get old (my brother-in-law took some to africa and found a jelly-like slime came out of the cassette, sliding of the estar base)

treat this film with respect - preferably with a decent camera & tripod - and it's rewards are many. It's great sharpness+detail are achievable with care in use. Apparent depth of field is noticeably shallower (smaller circle of confidence??)basically, you get from this film what you're prepared to put in to it in terms of care and effort. ps I also like the medium speed kodak panchromatic films.

Very fine grain, sharp edge acutance

Expensive, difficult to handle, thin base, tricky to develop, generally overly contrasty.

I like this film, but you have to be careful about the light conditions or you are going to get severe contrast. I developed in HC-110, and the results were good, although I did it at 64. At 32 it should yield less contrasty results and better smoother overall tonality. Its got unbelievable fine grain and very good for portraits. You just have to handle it carefully (its thin base makes it curl) and be precise about what you're doing

Film with a caracter all of its own, with very impressive results. Nice skies and very smooth skintones. As if your model still has his/her baby-skin. This film demands respect. Specially during processing. Try rodinal 1+100. Don't inverse, but SLOWLY turn the film every 15 seconds.

Needs very carefull processing for extremely beautifull results.

VERY IMPRESSIVE FILM, but needs carefull processing. Makes your 35 mm look like medium format. Tripod required.

Clear pictures, you can simply piont and click and not have to worry to much about the darkness or the lighting.

pictures may appear slightly fuzzy.

I took several pictures with this product, and even at the wrong time of day, yet I was able to enter 5 in the county fair, won champion, then whent on to state, and was able to get a red against professinals.
