Strength:
Finest B/W grain for a decent price. Excellent tonal reproduction and contrast.
Weakness:
Limited to Controlled/Bright lighting conditions. Only comes in 36exp. My most favorite film. Can't beat the grain or the contrast. Not harsh like Tri-X or some of the other films. Long live Ilford. Similar Products Used: Kodak T-max, Tri-x, C-41 |

Strength:
Ultra-high-accutance especially when properly developed!!!, wide tonal range
Weakness:
None Excellent, amazing film. If you like high accuuutance and the best tonality and dont have Acutiol, the alternative developer is highly diluted Rodinal (i.e. 1+100). Customer Service Develop it in Acutol 1+20, with the minimal agitation system as stated by Anchell and Troop in "The Film Developing Cookbook": continuos agitation the first 60 seconds, and 10 seconds every third minute...!!!, by about 12 to 13 minutes at 20 degrees C. Expose it at 100 to 125 ISO. Similar Products Used: Technical Pan, Agfapan 25 |

Strength:
Sharp, fine grain, very pleasing image characteristics. Perfect for shooting landscapes, especially in medium format. Properly exposed and developed negatives are easy to print with a minimum of dodging/burning.
Weakness:
I wish you could get it in sheet sizes. If you need a super high quality film and don't want to put up with Tech Pan, this is definitely a good choice. It's priced competitively, too, and that's always nice. Find your favorite developer, work out the right ASA and dev. time and you'll be set. Strength:
Detail, Sharpness, Ultra Fine Grain
Weakness:
Slow Beautiful film-- rich blacks-- detailed highlights-- this is my favorite B&W film. It looks its best with a normal lens-- of course that could be because that's the sharpest lens in my collection (and most) and this film will not be forgiving with a lower-grade lens. Strength:
Fine grain. Rich Blacks. Holds highlights in prints with punchy blacks.
Weakness:
None Process D76 1:1 at 8.5 mins. Flesh comes out pale as though there is a red sensitivity. Great for portaits. This film can test how good your lens is. Similar Products Used: None |

Strength:
Beautiful Tones when developed in PMK Pyro, Very fine Grain, Excellant handling in different developers.
Weakness:
none This is my favorite film. I know it's slow but the tonal gradation is beautiful. I found it gives me the best results in PMK Pyro (ISO 32). A close second is Ilfords Ilfosol S @ 1:14 dilution (ISO 50). I've also tried it Rodinal 1:50 (ISO 32)with excellant results. I use it exclusively in medium format. Wonderful film. None better! Strength:
Ultra sharp and fine grained, great for textural definition (does wonders for concrete or urban landscapes in general).
Weakness:
Shortened tonal scale, highlight separation not fantastic, sometimes overemphasised micro/local contrast. Very suitable film for a hard, sharp aesthetic, but Agfa APX25 is a better alternative for most purposes in this speed range. Similar Products Used: Agfa APX25 |
