Strength:

I like the colores, more natural less saturated.

Weakness:

price, grain is coarse.

If you don't like grainy photos don't buy this. Its good for indoor shots, but not so much bright sunlight.

Strength:

Hmm...it comes in a neat plastic case that can be used as an impromptu ashtray?

Weakness:

As grainy as a wheatfield in Kansas.

I'm not sure what purpose this film even serves. Perhaps it fulfills the "I'm looking for something that will make my subjects look non-dimensional, blanch the fleshtones and give me the overall effect of shooting into a mirror. At night. With my finger covering half of the AF sensor" market.

I switched from 200 to 400 to see if the higher ISO would give me better-exposed lowlight shots. However, the faster speed did nothing for low light shooting, as all of my night shots (with flash) came out looking as though they had been shot with a rusty screen over the lens. And the pictures taken in daylight were flat and lifeless and I could see the grain from five feet away. I've had better results with a Kodak one-use camera.

I must say that the Ritz photo labs did the best they could in terms of color correction or what have you; kudos to them. But I would never again waste my money on ISO 400 APS film. APS is beginning to frustrate me anyway - it's twice the price of 35mm in both film and developing and offers no real advantage other than drop in loading. In fact, if my Nuvis S didn't take such great landscape pics with ISO200, I'd trade it in for some new lenses or something.

If you are shooting APS, stick to ISO 200 or lower. Grainy pics are not worth the speed. If you want to shoot indoors, go buy a Stylus Epic and run some Royal Gold 800 through it.

Weakness:

It's GRAINY! It's more expensive than 200 speed and it's absolutely worthless because of it.

Don't bother buying 400 speed APS film, it's a waste of your money, because your photos will turn out ugly. If you are shooting in low light, invest in a good flash.

My review of this film is of the older emulsion (the version that doesn't claim to be based on the Kodak Max technology).

The Kodak Advantix 400 APS is just a mediocre all-around film. Mediocre sharpness, somewhat coarse grain... Same holds true with other 400-speed color print films in both APS and 35mm formats.

If you do a lot of point-and-shooting, 200-speed films are WAY better than these 400-speed piles of mediocrity.

Strength:

Great Photo for indoor

Weakness:

Higher price

Although heard a lot of people said the aps film's quality is not as good as 35mm, I still buy an ELPH 2 due to it's handsome looking. it is a difficult for me to choice P&P camera because there are lot of aps P&P camera in the market. After choice the camera... i start wondering what kind of film should i use. because most of photo i took from P&P camera were indoor. so i decided to go with Kodak Advantix 400. the quality of the aps photo is not as bad as i though... guess i havnt have chance to enlarge it... but i found the konda Advantix 400 is more suitable in the indoor environment than outdoor... the 100 or 200 film can do better in the outdoor environment and save a lot of money. Since most of APS camera have Mid-Roll-change function built in. you should always have 100 and 400's film in hand.

Strength:

Surprisingly fine grained (about the same as 35mm ISO 400 film for comparable size print -- grain on 12" print is visible but very tolerable). Color saturation is good, but less than 200 or 100 Advantix films. Skin tones are very pleasing and realistic.

Weakness:

Reprints from the local (Honolulu) Kodak "Premium" lab have been less than acceptable at times.

Currently my standard film. Sharp, pleasingly colorful, and fine grained.

I love this film because it is easy to load and the clarity is excellent.

Weakness:

I have never had a problem with this product. The colors are very vivid.

Kodak film is the only film I will use in my cameras. I love the color it gives for it's price.
