Strength:

Small and light weight. Can turn off flash and red eye. "Instamatic" focus mode. Single CR123 battery lasts a long time.

Weakness:

Lack of manual controls but the auto does a great job in most situations. No manual focus. Weak macro focus.

This is the first Point-N-Shoot I ever bought and I've been extemely happy with it. I use it mostly in situations where I don't want to carry a heavy SLR all day. The 200mm zoom is great and the camera works well in most photo situations. The flash is powerful and the red eye works to reduce (but not eliminate) demon eye. I also like that you can turn the flash and red eye off if wanted. The 1/400 minimum shutter speed is fast enough for most action shots and I've gotten great results at football games, airshows, and kids playing. The maximum 2 second exposure works well for night shots and bulb mode (with IR remote) gave wonderful results at Carlsbad Caverns. The autofocus is accurate and there's also what I call an 'instamatic' infinite mode for greater depth of field shots. All in all, this is a great PNS that can deliver quality shots in just about any photo situation, and is small enough to fit in a belly-bag or purse.

Strength:

- handsome look - has zoom that comes in handy if you need it in once in a blue moon requirement shot. - shutter button has a nice feel

Weakness:

I've said enough from the review summary. I don't wish to add more to the list.

I love it when I first bought this camera. Pictures were nice for me. Design is handsome. Even now, when people sees it, they say, nice camera. After travelling to several places in groups, I realized even very cheap cameras can give out much better picture quality than this given the same shot. This becomes obvious especially when everyone poses for group shots and had the tour guide use everyone's camera to take the shot. Even beach shot doesn't give much sharpness and vivid colors. Forget about using zoom. Sharpness degrades further. It can yield satisfactory result in low light as long as you switch the mode to night. Close distance photography can't be done. It will be out of focus. But there's a workaround. Step back, zoom in. The lens at a minimum of 48mm is almost always a pain in taking group pictures. While everyone takes out their camera, aim then shoot; mine is, take out the camera, aim, move backward, aim, move backward, aim, then shoot. This camera made me realize how nice it is to have a 35mm lens. The viewfinder is very difficult to look at. People who used my camera often had a hard time looking through the lens. This often makes me lose a candid shot. It's easy to use. I like the feel of its shutter release button, zoom level. Switch modes can be difficult to turn sometimes. Especially in cold weather or wet weather. Never tried panoramic shot. This is one of the most useless feature in cameras. It's also bulky. Although light-weight.

Used for various purposes--group photos indoors and out, crew races, pet photos, and most other circumstances. This camera is easy to use yet versatile and will satisfy most users of point and shoot cameras with zoom lens.

Strength:

Various modes. Zoom lens. Light weight. Easy to learn and use.

Weakness:

The camera is good. Especially when used with a kodak 400 iso. After developing a few rolls, it has given me very sharp pictures. It was better than expected. It is easy to use. The close up shots are the best. The LCD display is good and shows vital things. The various modes are also good and gives clear pictures. Though its hard to remember which mode is for what but once you get the hang of it (after a few clicks )and if properly used, results are best quality pictures.

Multiple exposure modes works well for decent pictures. Zoom lens is very helpful.

Weakness:

Not the sharpest lens around. Poor lens makes panorama pictures fuzzy.

Not a bad camera, but lens quality could be better.

Strength:

Excellent results in diverse settings, conditions, and circumstances. I do a lot of grade/high school/college sports indoors and out, in every imaginable--and many unimaginable--condition(s): action/still, too much light/glare/total darkness, cluttered/empty/moving background, etc. I have also had excellent results doing informal wedding and family pictures, large groups, and individuals. The panoramic mode is faculous.

Weakness:

Slow shutter speed with auto focus and flash is sometimes frustrating, but I'm getting used to it and sometimes can make the right adjustments to compensate.

I LOVE this camera. I do a lot of experimentation and trial-and-error, and I'm amazed at how frequently the results are very good to excellent. My nieces and nephews, even a 7 yr. old, are not only impressed with the pictures OF them, but with the ones they take. I take a lot of pictures so the high percentage of "success" means I have lots of shots to share with my favorite student-athletes.

Long Telephoto in easy to use form.

Weakness:

48 mm. is not wide enough angle for interior shots.

I am old enough that I started having problems focusing the older 35mm. cameras. The Pentax does a beautiful job of Point and Shoot Photography! I purchased the QD model, so I now have the ability to capture my grandchildren with the date permanently recorded on the film.

Just started using my Zoom 200. After only a couple of rolls developed, I recieved very sharp pictures. Better than I expected. Also the zoom is great.

Weakness:

Slightly cumbersome when using the different features. Probably not any worse than other comparable camera's.

Excellent for the beginning photographer.

The outside shots were very good. The indoor shots were terrible (very dark) even with the zoom close to 50-70mm, and close to the subject. I was expecting much better.

Strength:

Great zoom, lots of features in a compact size, light weight, clear pictures in regular mode, good flash, accurate focusing

Weakness:

Only major weakness: Poor results using panoramic mode. The pictures came out rather blurred.

Excellent camera except for poor panoramic results. Great results in regular (non-panoramic) mode. Multiple exposure feature is nice. Remote control capability is useful. Has a tripod socket. A tripod is a must while using the multiple exposure mode or bulb mode. Mine has date imprinting which is good for record-keeping. The camera fits nicely in your hand. Requires only one CR123A Lithium battery. Has spot focus mode. Using slow shutter sync while shooting objects against an evening sky produced great results. The landscape/infinity mode also produced good results. Red-eye reduction feature is useful. The close-up shots came out fantastic. Film loading is a breeze. The mode dial has clear, easy to understand icons. The LCD display shows all the vital information and illuminates automatically in poor light. The construction appears quite sturdy. The finish is excellent. After all this puppy's made in Japan. All-in-all a great camera worth the dollars. Don't bank on the panoramic feature to produce sharp prints though.
