Casual
Strength:
- Superb lens that delivers great vivid colours (if your film is well exposed and well processed). - Professional 'feel' and great design. - Performs well in nighttime situations with shutter speeds up to 2 sec. (Don't forget to use a tripod!!)
Weakness:
- Lens is a bit slow, so use 400 or 800 iso film at least. - Flash-output can sometimes be a bit over the top. Try only to use it for portraits in backlight situations. The body of the Leica C2 is made of metal, this gives the C2 a professional 'feel', all buttons are placed in the right positions so making a picture is very easy. The design itself is also really nice, it is based on the 'classic' look of the Leica rangefinder series. Overall the Leica C2 is very well constructed and with a little care, this camera can be used for years to come. The picture quality of the Leica C2 is also very pleasing. To really give the C2 a hard time i took some pictures of a bunch of autumn leaves in a nearby park (with a Fuji Superia 400 iso film). When the pictures came back from the lab, I was really pleased with the results; the details in the leaves were crispy sharp and the colours were really vivid, just like I expected from a Leica. If your intend is to buy a well-constructed point-and-shoot camera with a superb lens, there is no way you can avoid the Leica C2. The C2 is really worth every cent.
