Strength:

Light weight(less than 8 oz. with Battery), fast focus lens. All the APS options.

Weakness:

Weak exposure system. Rather small lens.

We purchased this Camera in the earlier part of the year 2000. It has been with us to just about every trip we have ever been to. I even took it we me to Japan in Dec 2000. This camera is for those who don''t want the hassle of carrying a bigger, or buying a more expensive Point and shoot APS. Film is breeze to mount. Just line up the film''s slots up to the camera''s and that''s it. It automatically forwards to the first frame. Like every other APS, it allows you to use the classic format, 4x6, H for High Definition? 4x7, and the Panorama which is 4x10. The image seems pretty sharp, but only if supported on a tripod or placed a top a sturdy base. The lens is extremely small. The camera seems to take underexposed pictures with super saturated colors. I blame this partially on the extra saturated APS films out. When used indoors with a flash, good exposure can be found if used within 3~4 feet and even lighting. I like the fact that you can choose multiple flash modes like Auto, Red-Eye Reducing, Off, Fill-in, Night Scene(w/ flash), and Red-Eye Reducing Night Scene. And a plus is the 10 second electronic self-timer, which helped create sharp pictures when placed on my mini table-top tripod.

Model Reviewed: Newpic Zoom 600

Strength:

Quality & Zoom feature at entry-level price. Small & light at only 7 oz. Multi-featured flash.

Weakness:

No mid-roll rewind-and-reuse, no titling, small viewfinder difficult to see through. Tiny LCD display.

Camera seems to be competent and well worth the low-100's price range. Will know more once first photos get processed.

Strength:

Inexpensive and light. Produces good pictures when it works.

Weakness:

Due to mechanical failures, had to relace twice. Obtaining warranty service is very time consuming and aggravating. You pay less - you get cheap.

Maybe I just didn't luck out but I wouldn's by Olympus again.

Customer Service

Close to poor.
