Strength:

Size, lens quality.

Weakness:

Noisy, like most APS cameras. Cost of APS film development is higher than 35mm--but quality is more consistent.

For candid snapshots and group pics you cannot top this camera. Great close ups too. It packs a lot of camera into an extremely small package. Breathtaking panoramic mode.

Strength:

Compact, lenscover closes over lens when turned off;red eye reduction

Weakness:

sometimes for an unexplainable reason some pictures taken with flash have a "halo" around shot

I have been happy with this camera because it is easy to pack and even stick in your coat pocket. This camera has been designed for the novice. I must be honest and have to take time to sit down with instructions and learn which type of flash to se and when because when the pictures come back it seems it could make a difference. I am not a fan of the 4 X 6" shot so have learned that in order to move in on subject you need to get closer than what falls inside the viewfinder.

Strength:

Perfect size to fit into your pocket. Handy to have around when you don't want to lug a larger camera around. Great results with the APS format. Easy to learn and use. The 2x zoom lens is great.

Weakness:

Haven't found any yet...

Purchased a returned/out of package camera at Best Buy for less than $90 when a new one was running about $150. Didn't come with a owners manual but very easy to figure out most of the operations without it (this from a true novice with cameras). Liked the camera so much that I bought my son another one for a graduation gift. (Finally got a look at a manual!). For the size, price and results I don't think this camera can be beat!

Customer Service

Was missing owners manual (see below) and called Olympus. Their phone system was difficult to navigate but finally reached a live person to talk to. They offered to send a manual to me (no charge). Unfortunately they sent the wrong manual for another of their camera models.

First APS camera I have tried. Considered a Canon Elf but like the looks and feel of the Olympus better.
