Strength:
great images, easy access, excellent features
Weakness:
loud zoom I am 19 years old and have been using this camera since the day I have purchased it. After working in a Professional photographer's workshop, taking schooling in university photography myself, and coming in contact with customers who have purchased this camera, I have never been happier. I know how to tell the difference from a well produced image, and one that is poor. I have been on 5 trips with this camera, and have only replaced the battery once. I recommend this camera to the people out there who know what the foundation of photography is all about. If you aren't looking to get good results in your pictures, then don't waste the money. If you believe in your own knowledge and opinions, then this would be a good purchase for you. I may only be 19, but I most certainly have more knowledge then ever! Customer Service excellent Similar Products Used: you name it, i've used it |

Strength:
Everything can be automatic, light weight.
Weakness:
Image quality, over-priced. I have been using my two Nikon FTn's for over 3 decades along with a suite of Nikon lenses. I bought this camera 5+ years ago, thinking that I could rely on Nikon's reputation and savoir faire to design a top-rated APS camera. What a disappointment! After having only used 3 rolls, I decided to store it PERMANENTLY and keep it as a member of my 200+ camera collection. Customer Service Never had any problem while running through the grand total of 3 rolls. Similar Products Used: Pentax PC35AF-M Date point-and-Shoot that I bought is 1990, which incidently produces consistently much better quality pictures (sharpness and color saturation) that this much newer camera. |

None This camera is a piece of junk. Don''t waste your money buying this camera. Nikon makes excellent SLR cameras and lens but their point and shoot are about the worst I seen. I had purchased a recondition camera. When I first received it, the flash didn''t even work. I then had to ship it back to them which I had to pay for the S&H. Then the rubber eye-piece came off. Now the zoom switch is not working very well. Plus the recondition camera only comes with a 90 day warranty. Similar Products Used: Canon Sureshot |

Great specifications
Weakness:
Lousy results Sad to say, Nikon is using their name from superb professional level equipment to flog junk to the masses. I bought one of these, and there were white blobby areas in the middle of the prints. The store looked at the photos and immediately took it back and gave me another. The new camera did not have the same problems, but the lens wasn''t up to the quality of my Fuji or Canon Elph APS cameras, and it had hideous fall-off around the edges of the photos at anything below an equivalent of 50mm or so. A slight bump to the lens wiped out the zoom mechanism, fortunately fixed for free. But at that point I sold the camera and resolved not to be taken in again. (Sammys was first rate on service, by the way, not their fault for the poor camera) Frankly, Olympus, Canon, Fuji and Pentax have never let me down, whatever the price range. This is the third Nikon consumer level camera I have tried that wasn''t up to the competition. (Nikkorex 8 movie camera, and Nikkorex SLR) I absolutely love my Nikon S rangefinder equipment, and good results with a friend''s Nikon Pro level SLR cameras. They CAN make good stuff when they want to. Customer Service Excellent, unfortunately, VERY necessary! Nuvis 160i APS Camera
Strength:
Everything is automatic
Weakness:
I bought this camera a year ago thinking that I will enjoy Nikon quality (I have been using 2 Nikon Fs and 5 Nikon and TP lenses since 1975), but is disappointed by the low quality of the lens and the inaccuracy of the autofocus mechanism in low light condition. Not convinced that APS is better than the old 35mm films. If you want point-and-shoot stick to the cheaper and better value 35mm models. Customer Service Never had it served yet Similar Products Used: My old Pentax PC35AF-MDate is sharper than this new Nikon Nuvis 160i |

Strength:
Handsome camera. Small, self contained. Nice zoom range, plus advantages of APS.
Weakness:
Expensive. Hungry for hard to find battery. Inconsistent results with autofocus. Picture quality only mediocre. APS film is expensive and cannot be developed 1-hr or even overnight. I am a Nikon F series user and this camera was my foray into APS. I was so disappointed! The APS film format offers nice features but this camera disappointed me. Picture quality was lacking, couldn't even consider enlargements beyond original print size. In addition the camera jammed once while rewinding. My 19 yo daughter gets much better results with a $129 Yashica 35mm point and shoot. Similar Products Used: None |

Strength:
Compact, all the necessary features including diopter adjustment, backlit display, nice sliding lense covering.
Weakness:
After two years of flawless use, the shutter released jammed. All other functions work. This was my first and only APS camera. I selected it after comparison shopping for almost a year in 1998. I like the compact size, diopter adjustment (with trifocal glasses, it is a must), and the backlit display. However, Nikon needed to repair the shutter release for free, even though it was out of warranty. I will not get another Nikon APS camera or probably any other Nikon camera. Customer Service Only Nikon has the equipment to repair the shutter release. You have to send it to them for about $100. Similar Products Used: None |

Nuvis 160i APS Camera
Strength:
I bought this camera (Nikon Nuvis 110i)about 1 year ago and have been mostly pleased with it.
Weakness:
Sometimes there is a slight delay between pushing the shutter release and the picture actually being taken. This is especially noticiable when red-eye reduction is engaged. This is my first experience with the APS system and both the system and the camera have worked quite well. Similar Products Used: Nikon S body |
