Strength:
Small size, full metal construction, built-in date/time/titling features, relatively fast lens (f 3.5), backlight compensation (just remember to select it!), powerful flash, wide film speed support (some APS cameras limited to ASA 100, 200 or 400), Excellent photo quality.
Weakness:
Red eye with flash pictures (has red eye reduction feature, but it complicates picture taking), Hard to see "reverse Galileo" framing indicators in low light or when wearing hats with visor, No "zoom" capability (of course that''s why the lens is so fast & sharp). This is a GREAT pocket camera! It takes fantastic "snap shots" - perfect for traveling and groups of friends/family. Of course it''s 28mm (similar to 35mm lens on a 35mm camera) is not best suited for portraits, distant sporting events, etc., but otherwise I have no complaints. I keep this camera with me whenever I''m taking pictures even if I''m using something else (digital, 35mm SLR, etc.) as my primary camera. That way I can grab the Konica to take quick shots between lens changes, film changes, during breaks/meals, etc. For $30 this camera was a STEAL - about the equivalent of 3-4 dispoble cameras! Strength:
Compact, metal body. Excellent lens and exposure accuracy. The "TV MODE" is great for computer screen shots.
Weakness:
Minor: too many captions in too many languages. i shoot professionally and sell P/S in a retail enviroment. Of all the APS cameras out there, two stand out for image quality and exposure accuracy: the Konica BMS100 and Olympus Centurian-S. Similar Products Used: Almost every APS model 1998 to present except the Rollei models and Nikon's Nuvis-S. |

Strength:
Pocket sized
Weakness:
Small size means red eye with indoor flash. An excellent, rugged camera with an outstanding lens. Prints are always sharp with good color and contrast. Controls allow good manual selection of flash and shutter modes. I bought it 18 months ago and it has been the workhorse camera for all kinds of family events & trips. It has been a stellar performer. Panorama shots in APS are great fun, but don't expect sharp enlargements beyond 8x12 from any APS negative, even from a quality lab. Super BiG mini BM-S100
Strength:
Very Small. Very sturdy design due to the full metal housing and the lense that pops inside the housing when the camera is not turned on. I bought this camera to take picture on mtb rides and the metal box shape seems to hold up real good. The lens is of pretty good quality for the pictures I take. It doesn"t have a zoom though. Several nice features on the camera like several flash-modes (anti-red eyes) and slow shutter sync. And the 3 format APS thing is nice even though I always use the H format to get the most out of the negative.
Weakness:
No zoom. Very small and sturdy camera with APS format. Works fine if no zoom is required. Customer Service No problems or questions so far. Similar Products Used: none. |
