Strength:
The mid-roll change and index prints... and the exposure information printout (APS standard) are wonderful!!
Weakness:
ABSOLUTELY NO CHOICES FOR FILM and FORGET ABOUT DEVELOPING YOUR OWN PICTURES. I don't know I'm split on whether I love it or hate it. While it's APS strengths and cool design makes it an ELAN II on steroids, it just doesn't have the artistic capabilities of slide film. enlargements tend to be grainy... if I weren't poor, I'd keep it for vacations and just around town, but since I want to do serious photography, it is almost useless. Strength:
Small, lightweight, easy to use. Remote control. Data imprint on pictures.
Weakness:
Film processing is still more expensive. I can develop the film. I enjoy my Elph Jr. but wanted something more versatile in the APS format. It will not replace my 35mm cameras. I like the easier film handing and negative storage. This is a fun camera to leave in the camera bag for any occasion. I like the index print that comes standard from Kodal in this format. If you are going to own only one camera, and you want an easy automatic camera, this is the one. When you are ready to move up to more picture control, this camera will let you do it. somewhat heavy (BUT PRICE YOU PAY FOR SUCH GREAT DURABILITY); this camera kicks ass. its extremely durable and takes great pics. I took it to Europe for a month and came back with 25 rolls of film and soem of the best pics i've ever taken. Also it will take all the canon lenses!! EOS IX
Strength:
Compatibility with other Canon EOS cameras. Convience of APS. Rugged? Intuitive operation.
Weakness:
Disappointing film choices. Some sacrifice of sharpness if blowing up beyond 8x10. I bought the IX to complement my EOS Elan IIe. Freely interchange 28-105 & 75-300IS between the two bodies. Easier to grap & shoot with than the Elan. Like an old friend, easy to have around. If more people gave bodies like the IX a chance, the future of APS beyond Pt&Sht would likely brighten. We also have an IX lite, it's lighter & easier to take on hikes and other treks where weight counts but I consider it a step in the wrong direction. The IX lite gets left home, the IX comes along. If I didn't like the Elan IIe so much, the IX be enough camera until I make the digital plunge. Customer Service Not required. Similar Products Used: Canon IX Lite |

Great price when on sale. Pictures so far have been excellent with Sigma 28-28 F3.5-5.6 that came with camera (@ Wolf). Fully Automatic makes it easy to use but also has manual mode like any 35mm SLR. Many lenses available. Also has great looks.
Weakness:
Can't do multiple exposure. No APS slide film available. No APS film higher than ISO 400 available (yet). (The last two are not the camera's fault, though). Great APS camera with a lot of lens choices. All the benefits and ease of use of APS with 35mm-like options. Customer Service N/A Similar Products Used: None. |

Strength:
solid construction, full APS backprint info of exposure data, mostly intuitive interface, looks REALLY cool
Weakness:
feels heavy, C,H,P setting, hard-to-see LCD viewfinder info, weak flash This is a fine camera if (1) you want to try out the APS format; (2) you really want to keep a record of exposure settings but you're too lazy (or can't afford a 1V); (3) want attention (as noted by a previous post). Customer Service no experience (fingers crossed) Similar Products Used: EOS 650, Rebel S, Elan II |

stainless steel body, accept all eos lenses, looks really really cool
Weakness:
doesn't have all the features that other 35mm EOS cameras offer, also doesn't have much accessories as other EOS' (like a battery pack or grips) (i'm not really sure, but they didn't put it in the manual) With all the strengths, I think this is the best APS camera. Good for a beginner, has all the simplicity of APS film and the power of EOS camera. Similar Products Used: None |

Flashy cool look. If you want attention whip this bad mamma out. Also it has easy to use features as simple as pie. But dont get me wrong if you don't know what your doing you can mess up easy. APS film give it an extra edge with mid-roll change, and different print formats.
Weakness:
None Very Good camera for casual or artistic photography. if you have enough money get it. High priced but i do think its on sale right now. MANY helpful features make this a excellent camera. Customer Service Haven't used it yet nothing went wrong so far. (KNOCK ON WOOD) Similar Products Used: Vivitar V4000 |
