EOS IX Lite
Strength:
Compact, versatile, packs many features into a compact format.
Weakness:
Body went completely dead after 4 months. Canon USA replaced the body outright, but was unable to rescue the roll of film in the body at the time of death. I spend a great deal of time in the outdoors (hiking, XC skiing, bicycling, canoenig) and this camera is easy to carry and allows me the versatility I need for many different shots. But I now carry a backup point & shoot (Elph) in case the IX dies again. And for winter activities I still use my trusty Olympus OM-1n. Bombproof! Customer Service I guess it was OK. I received a new body, but was thoroughly dismayed at Cannon's vaunted quality/reliability. Similar Products Used: None |

Strength:
Light weight (plastic construction) but robust enough (just) to feel comfortable about stuffing in odd spaces for transportation. Took a lot of good photos when I was new without me having to think very much. Manual was clearly written and illustrated. Mid roll change is great for shufflling film between cameras or changing film speed quickly. Although it's not really part of the camera, working through old rols in a scanner I'd say that APS processing has fixed more pictures than it broke.
Weakness:
Main dial is mounted around the shutter button and seemed stiff - so you have to move the camera away from your face to change shutter speed etc. MRC eats batteries. A comfortable introduction to SLR photography for anyone who likes the idea of APS Customer Service Never needed Similar Products Used: Ixus L-1, EOS 300 |
