Strength:
Extremely easy to use if the situation demands "point and shoot" and the results are superb. Manual operation extends the creativity value of this camera. Nice to look at and hold.
Weakness:
The "electronic wheel" I purchased this camera to take away on an overseas trip and was so impressed with it that I now use it for just about all my photography needs. The pictures have amazing clarity and color, though the panoramic shots tend to be grainy, though this is a fault of the APS system rather than the camera itself. It is also very important to find a minilab that develops APS to its best possible standard, I have tried several with disturbing variation...finally settling on a Fuji lab that gives me results beyond my expectations every time. Anyone wanting a versatile, quality camera with all the added bonuses of the APS system should seriously consider this camera. Similar Products Used: Nikon Pronea S |

Small size and light weight with various functions
Weakness:
The quality of the pictures Initially, I like this camera very much from the size and convinent functions. But, the problem is the pictures I got with my camera. To be honest, I’m really disappointing with the quality of the pictures I have gotten from this camera. I have several cameras. But, this camera has given me the worst pictures. The picture quality is worse than the one from fully automatic 35mm small cameras (from my Pentax or Nikon, price less than $250) in the similar situations. The biggest problem is the colors. I tried different films, different D&P stores, pictures without or with filters, different modes, different exposure and shutter speed, … up to now. But, My Canon EOS IX Lite never generate nice colors. Also the pictures (especially the colors) were almost always worse than any other pictures from my other cameras. The pictures always look like taken under fluorescent light. Even skin colors are greenish all the time. If anyone knows the possible reasons, please let me know. If everyone who use APS has similar problem with me, the problem should come from the shortage of modern APS D&P technolody. If not, my camera should have problem, even though Canon USA said my camera is normal. Customer Service I sent my camera to Canon USA. They sent it back to me in 2 weeks with the letter which said everything is fine with my camera. Similar Products Used: None of APS cameras. |

Strength:
Light weight; you hardly know it is there. Small body size. Interchangalbe lenses with other models. APS format. Auto focus. Red eye reduction.
Weakness:
Small body size is also sometimes its handicap. I have small hands so this isn't too much of an issue. I can only imagine this camera if someone has large hands. Flash seems a little inadequate. Go with an external one. Auto focus is a little slow. Action shots may be blurred if you have to wait for the autofocus to adjust. I bought mine from Ebay new for $300. This was about $100 less than most stores where selling retail. I would not recommend this camera for the casual user like myself. It has a bit too much in adjustability for point and shoot if that is what you are after. But it is definitely a camera you can grow into. Customer Service No problems. Light weight, easy to hold and use. Pictures are sharp.
Weakness:
Slide film not available in APS format yet. Hopefully it will come soon. I do a lot of hiking and backpacking. You don't even know the camera is there it is so light. I have a small Tamrac bag that holds the camara with the 22-55 lens connected and another small camera bag that perfectly fits the 55-200 lens. I just strap the two on my pack on run my belt through the loop for quick access to both the camera and lens. I paid less than $200 for the 55-200 lense from www.cameraworld.com. Customer Service I Haven't had any problems with the camera so I haven't dealt with customer service. Similar Products Used: None |

A very compact camera. A body with the 22-55 lens attached, the 55-200 and the 380EX flash can all fit in a small Tamrac 605. I sampled the IX lite, the Nikon Pronea S, and the Minolta Vectis S-1. I chose the Canon because the Nikon does not have a hot shoe and the Vectis does not take Maxxum lenses.
Weakness:
CR-2 batteries don't last long when you use the flash. If you shoot indoors, get one of the EX series flashes. It's not my primary camera, but I'm very happy with the results - especially once I found a decent printer. Customer Service No problems - no need to call yet. Similar Products Used: None. |

Compact size
Weakness:
Lack of depth of field preview button. This is a great camera when you need to budget the space you have. It's a compact, light camera, which is completely self contained. Because this camera has both automatic and manual modes, it is great for the creative photographer, and also for the less-than-totally-interested spouse or kids. My only big complaint is the autofocus aid system needs improvement. It doesn't work very well in very low light, and most subjects find it very annoying. They should increase the power of the redeye reduction lamp, and use it for both functions, as on some of the Nikon models. Other than that, I highly recommend this great camera to anyone who wants the versatility of an SLR but the compact size of a point and shoot. Customer Service Never had to use. 20 years of shooting with Canon cameras, and not a single problem. Similar Products Used: FT, A-1, EOS 650 |

Use of print film only. This is a camera for someone who plans on using print film only and that does not have any aspirations of taking their skill to the next level. Camera is very small and difficult to handle as a result. Customer Service Not used Similar Products Used: Canon products |

Light, especially great on long hikes! Many features. Great for beginning photgraphy.
Weakness:
Print film only, not being able to get slide film is a big dissapointment. Auto focus can be buggy. Limit of film speed. (only ISO 100,200,400, and B&W 400) Great introductory camera, however i'm not very impressed with the APS System except for this camera's mid-roll film change. I've used this feature over and over, from Black and White then to Color. Bottom line, if I had to go back, i'd buy a 35-mm instead. Customer Service N/A Similar Products Used: None |

None that I have come across! I just got this camera about a week ago, as an early Christmas gift. I picked up my first two rolls of film today, and I was -very- amazed. Every picture came out beautiful! Very sharp pictures, great color, just absolutely beautiful pictures. I love this camera, already. I bought myself a good book to learn with, and I think this camera will definately be a great tool to learn on / use all the time. I could not be any happier with a camera! I'd definately buy it again! Customer Service Havn't Needed Yet. Similar Products Used: Canon Elph Lt. |
