Compatibillity with older models (lenses). Compact. lightweight and the build-in flash works good for small distances.

Plastic body and lensmount. Place of the hotsheo, if using a 2nd flash on the camers, the build in flash cannot be opened (with AF400FTZ)

The zx10 sets a standard for other camera's in this range. Dispite the lack of mirrorlock (which I don't nead!) a masterpeace. AF works perfect if there's enough contrast/light. Otherwise use a Flash with IR beam. Up to now, all my slides were exposed perfectly in all settings and conditions (even in Aquaria)

My old lenses still can be used

the flash light won`t come up and after the unauthorized dealer fix this problem(the authorized dealer can`t fix this problem), after that my selftimer can`t work no more!

this camera comes with easy to handle body,but i think the body is too small for my hand, it feels so fragile but after all it also gave me lots of great pictures. I also can still use my father`s 20 years old lenses with adapter(it can read the exprosure meter!)

Great for starting out by using all auto...then as you advance, your Pentax can change with you...add lenses, use different manual settings, etc.

most people have listed their weakness to be the lack of ability to use auto focus in low light...well to solve that is to purchase one of the Pentax flashes that has a red beam that enables focusing in low light...almost even darkness. I've had no problems with the camera.

Great all around camera...when friends see my pictures, they are amazed...I tell them it's the photographer, but I know this camera has alot to do with it.

I've had this camera for a number of years and I thoroughly enjoy it. Easy to read displays helped fine tune my skills, yet most times I leave the camera in the "automatic" mode for quick pics. The perfect beginner SLR that you won't outgrow.

I haven't found anything that I would list as a weakness except that it seemed a little pricey.

I would really recommend this camera to anyone who really wants to take good photos, both inside and out. It has the panoramic function (which is a little strange, but nice feature), has a built-in timer to allow the photographer 15 seconds to get into the picture, a bulb setting, fairly easy to understand all the features and functions, date stamp available on some models adds a nice feature. It is a nice compact camera and I'd recommend it.

Has both fully auto and fully manual capabilities. This camera is also light for an SLR and has a nice exterior design.

Autofocus is not as accurate or easy to use indoors.

Like many photo hobbyists I wanted an SLR camera that I would still be able to use as I became a more experienced photographer--one that would be easy to use as a beginner, but that had the functions of a more advanced camera. The Pentax zx-10 has all of that, and the date function and auto features are still great for when I just feel like taking a snapshot.

All the benefits of a point and shoot combined with a fully manual k1000 with none of the weaknesses of either. I ask how a Nikon would be better; never got a good answere.

battery pack should come with camera

Cost $265. Does everything well. Everything always works. Good looking. Super ergonomic. Bright viewfinder. Used to shoot in manual modes but the auto modes are better and faster, even for close up work through a bellows. Auto focus dead on, as are exposures. Easy to load. What would a nikon do better?
