Konica Minolta X-700 35mm SLRs

Konica Minolta X-700 35mm SLRs

DESCRIPTION

Minolta's X-700 is a perfect combination of sophistication and simplicity. In P mode, the camera selects both the shutter and aperture for the correct exposure, so all you have to do is focus and shoot. But if you want to take over, there's aperture-priority exposure control and full metered manual exposure control right at your fingertips.

Strength:

Light and easy to use; plenty of functions. The used market for this camera, lenses, and accessories is probably the best buyer market in the photo industry.

Weakness:

Selection of new lenses is limited; no mirror lock-up.

The only limitatio for this camera is that Minolta doesn't make as many lenses as it used to; a a result, the new market isn't good. If you don't mind buying used equipment, though, this is the best value available anywhere -- I own at least twice the gear I would own for paying the same price for used Nikon or Canon.

Customer Service

Good, but not as good as Maxxum support

Model Reviewed: X-700

Strength:

Tough little full manual SLR. Takes excellent picutures and is great as a beginning and teaching camera.

Weakness:

The features are limited.

This is an inexpensive full manual SLR. It supports a wide array of Minolta lenses, and it is inexpensive. It does look humble next to the current gaggle of fully-auto jobs, but for the dollar, it stands up well.

Customer Service

No need.
