Strength:
Small, light, bright viewfinder, everything''s customisable, superb metering (same as Dynax 7 and 9), 3 frames per second motorwind is very fast for this class
Weakness:
can''t think of any, although the grip is small which may not suit everyone. I''m very impressed with this lightweight baby. For myt full impartial review, see my website www.virtualtraveller.org There is one additional point I''d make in response to one of the other reviews here. Someone said the spot-meter button is a pain to hold down whilst taking a photo. This, as with almost every aspect of the camera, is customisable - if you want the spot meter button to work as an "one-press for on, another-press for off" button rather than a "hold-down for on" button, you can. Customer Service Never used (despite 5 years of abusing the 600si, which has been flawlessly reliable) Similar Products Used: Minolta Dynax 600si |

Strength:
Small, lightweight, many features, easy to use.
Weakness:
Spot metering button difficult to hold down whilst taking picture and also very close to AF button. Would have liked a light in the display on top of the camera, but I guess that would add to the cost. Great camera, fits in my small hands snugly. Love the light weight, the many features, the ease of use. Finding your way around this camera is very, very easy and ideal for beginners. Found holding down the spot metering button and releasing the shutter simultaneously diffcult, for some reason! But still glad to have the spot metering facility. The camera also looks smart with it''s part silver body. Super sharp and well exposed photos. Important to me is the fact that it''s FUN to use. Manual is very good and easy to understand. All in all, very pleased with my purchase, and very little I would change or add to this camera. Customer Service None needed. Similar Products Used: Nikon 2020 |

Strength:
7-point AF with LED illuminated; fast focusing; 3fs; almost no mirror-up vibration; 14-segment and spot metering; ADI flash metering with D lens; DOF; 14 custom function; metal lens mount.
Weakness:
no flash exposure compensation; no mirror lock; spot AF button and spot AE button are too close; not many D lenses at this time; not easy to rotate focus point. having this small and light camera for 5 weeks (with 28-80/f3.5-5.6D for the kit). Although small, I am impressed by the comfortable handling. With eye-start feature, bright viewfinder and fast AF, I am pleased with this wonderful computer. Almost no mirror-up vibration, I could take sharp pictures using 1/15~1/30 speed. ADI flash metering is a nice feature beyond old Minolta models. With this new feature, I feel confident to take fill-in daylight shots or night scene shots. The prints came out nicely exposured. Plastic body is a trade-off for light weight and cost. I felt good when I traveled with this little gem. Customer Service No need at this time. Similar Products Used: Olympus OM-1 and prime lenses. compact cameras from Canon and Olympus. |
