Strength:
Easy to use SLR with a very fast and reliable eye controled autofocus. Eye-Control works well even with glasses or contact lenses. You can customize some functions to your own requirements for eg. film position after the rewind.
Weakness:
Not so far. A perfect SLR for the advanced amateur and probably a nice backup SLR for the Professional. Customer Service Not used. Similar Products Used: Used a Pentax ME Super for over 10 years. |

Simple controls. Easy to use. Eye Controlled autofocus.
Weakness:
The exposure compensation dial is a dual edged sword. It's so darn handy to use, that it's easy to bump and change your exposure unknowningly. Excellent camera for those getting started. Has room to grow. It will become my backup body when my EOS-3 arrives. Customer Service No experience. Similar Products Used: None. |

Strength:
Nice retro styling with the two top dials for setting exposure mode, and focus mode. Great metered manual scale. Lightweight. Motor drive and shutter are quiet. Autofocus is fast and accurate. Makes a nice backup camera to my A2
Weakness:
None yet, although I wish it had a spot meter. Great Camera for the money. Makes an excellent camera for the novice as well as a great backup camera for the professional. Customer Service Haven't had to call Canon Similar Products Used: Canon A2 |

This camera is great for the price. It feels great in the hand. I love the 3 point focus-totally has revolutionized the way I take pictures, no more focus and then recompose. Almost always focuses on what I want. The great options of a point and shoot with also the ability to go manual is what I think is awesome too. Everybody needs this camera.
Weakness:
I didn't like the strap that came with it! That's my only problem, and that isn't really a problem. Buy this camera if you want more than the consumer Rebel. And can't afford a pro camera. Customer Service Havn't had a need for it. Other than the Canon guys that come to the local camera shop for free cleanings and free maintainence. Similar Products Used: Canon Rebel and Elan IIe. |

Feels good in my hand and the controls are well placed. Easy to learn to use.
Weakness:
None so far. A great camera for the money. Was looking at the Rebel 2000, but could upgrade to the Elan II with USM lens for only $50 more. I think it was worth the extra $50. Customer Service NA Similar Products Used: Mostly P & S cameras |

Strength:
Not too heavy, easy to use in manual mode, easy to hand to someone with no experience, and get a good exposure!
Weakness:
Lack of spot meter. This was my first "real" camera. It was a great camera to grow into. It was easy to use in Automatic mode, and the controls are well laid out for when the users skill set evolves into the manual modes. I now use it as a second camera to my EOS 3. Customer Service None with Canon, my local camera shop has been excellent Similar Products Used: EOS 3, Rebel 2000 |

Ease of use
Weakness:
None encountered eversince 8/96 An average priced and middle classed camera. Top covering is aluminum alloy instead of plastic and very durable overall. Would recommend this camera to an intermediate or a beginner. Functions are easy to understand and no memorization required since the dials shows them all on the top cover. Has mirror lock-up, depth of field preview, eye control focusing... My opinion is the best buy in the EOS line. Customer Service None required eversince Similar Products Used: None |

I am on my second one. the first one had an odd problem of not being able to focus on any single point. this is the first slr i have bought for myself. i love it, and use it every day. i would buy it again. now i just have get a few lenses, because while the 28-80 that is in the kit is good, it's not great.
