Strength:
Great lens that is sharp at all focal length. Good build quality, very good ergonomics make it easy to hold with good button/control placement. EVF is good as is the LCD. Love the easy to navigate menu system..quick and easy to make change settings. Pretty quick to lock focus, even at full tele. And finally, the Fuji colors are great..I prefer Chrome in P mode for a little more saturation. It's a camera that does not get much attention since the Fuji HS50 is out, but this one has equally good image quality at much less. Note that this one uses 4 AA batteries, of which I like. If you prefer proprietary battery, go with the HS50. That said, the HS50 takes some expermentation to get the EXR technology dialed in to your preference. With the S8200, S8300, S8500, and SL1000, no trial/error adjustments needed. Very pleased with this camera.
Weakness:
None so far. Have had it for two weeks now and it has exceeded my expectations and having compared it to the Nikon P510 and the Canon SX40..both good cameras, but the Fuji color is working great for me. Picked up mine at Costco for $229. with Fuji bag and a 16GB SD card! |
