Strength:
with 28-400mm lense, it is a good thing which makes easier for people to capture any photo for any range. 28 mm is wide enough and 400 mm was pretty long range for it. it is such a compact lense. Compare to DSLR camera, mostly, we need to change the lense again and again, probably the object runs/flies away while we change the DSLR lense. if you want to get such a lense (wide and long range)for DSLR, it will cost you more than the DSLR camera itself.
Weakness:
What I hate from this camera, I t has a bulky appearance, and it is heavy (almost reach 1kg)
Compared to other "bridge camera", I think fs 100 is the best for its class.

Strength:
very fast and likable camera. continuous shooting of 7 fps on 3 Mp is excellent for sports. low light shooting with high ISO is better then any compact or even some budget SLR's.external setings mean you don't have to go into manu's that often. zoom and focus on the lens is next to none. once you pick it up you don't want to put it down. I replaced Canon EOS 30D with Fuji S100FS and don't regret it at all. No more dust on the sensor.
Weakness:
Would prefer optical view finder and battery could last a bit longer. get a spare one, thought. Very capable machine. fast focus and shooting. love the external buttons and setting. it has a full SLR appeal. Sceene mode is very usefull. |

Weakness:
- the first time you turn the camera on and the time you need to set up the camera when you can take a photo.
S100FS provides a nice balance between solid feel and light weight.

Strength:
Great shooting range 28mm to 400mm with single lens.
Weakness:
Extra battery is hard to find.
Outstanding camera with great lens. The camera is the fastest point and shoot that I have ever used. I can usually get a clear shot from someone standing on a corner driving by at 30 MPH from the time that I see them to turning the camera on to getting the shot and it is a very sharp photo.

Super macro zoom to .4" really spectacular pictures to be had on this mode for nature photograhy. The film simulation modes are excellent and no gimic as only fuji could show you.
Weakness:
Some say too heavy but have no problems with it as it is easier to hold stable from shake and just feels like a real camera. Fixed lens....But what a fixed lens!
Excellent camera with Excellent lens. This camera is a great find and have been comparing very closely to my D-80 with serious lenses and E-510 with the same.

i have only owned this camera for about 2 weeks now and i must say i find it a big step up from my old fuji finepix S9000...i get great shots even at 400mm zoom..DR works well(no washed out highlights)....i really like all the FS modes...they work well for the most part.....iso up to 10000 at 3m is a big pluse for me....it takes good night shots with some slight tweeking of the settings.....all in all i think it is a great camera for the price.. Good Lens with Effective Optical and Digital Image Stabilization functions.
Weakness:
Starting Price at $799, it is too expensive for a Mega Zoom Camera.
Over all I was please with the FUJI s100fs, it is a great camera for hiking, travelling, or if you are a Paparazzi. I purchased my new Fuji S100fs from Aden Camera at $620 Canadian + 20.00 Shipping, but they send me a demo with pictures of their store and employee still in the camera. There were finger prints all over the camera screen, and a small scratch at the side of the flip screen’s frame. I called Aden camera, and they refuse to do anything about it.
Customer Service AdenCamera(Canada) has some attrative advertised Sale Price.

It is not a real SLR This is an excellent camera for the price. The last reviewer gusravo said it was hard to focus. I found that if you use Manual Focus mode and the one-button- focus inside the focus selection dial, it can focus at any difficult condition.

Metering is excellent as is noise performance. Handling, size and ergonomics.
Weakness:
The Fujinon lens designers need to go back to school!!! Very poor here, even the lens on my old S9500 is better.
A good attempt by Fuji at giving a camera that would try to compete with a baby DSLR / superzoom lens combination, but at around the same price. The camera is solidly build, good ergonomics, feels good in the hand. The sensor is quite OK, the film simulation is a geeky feature, I would prefer to have ADOBE RGB than "Provia". Noise performance in line with 'super CCD" standard, that is better than any other small sensor camera, but still below current DSLR capability.
