Strength:

It has a great macro setting. It's easy to navigate from screen to screen for those or don't know cameras well. It's small and compatible, so you can carry it with you at all times. I keep mine, just in case a photo opportunity arises. The zoom action is FANTASTIC. I took a picture of a dog from the comfort of my seat, inside a restaurant located across the street and through a window. The camera still kept the clarity with minimal noise. WOW! It has the ability to make your photos look more professionally done, and since I've had mine, people sometimes think a DSLR was used take the photos.

Weakness:

Either I'm not completely savvy with the camera yet, or the night setting isn't really good. When trying to snap pictures of objects at night (and with the use of a tripod), it creates a lot of noise. I've tried to take a night shot with both high and low ISO, and it didn't work. Also, this doesn't have the option for a super macro setting. And it's also difficult to take pictures of moving animals even when set on the "children & pets" function; the images usually come out blurry.

I purchased this camera to upgrade my old Sony DSC-T7 about 6 months ago. I didn't think this camera had much to it until I discovered all the neat features that came with it. I'm brand new to photography and will soon be upgrading to a DSLR camera to add to my PowerShot. If you're looking into photography, and don't want to spend loads of money on a DSLR, I would recommend this item. If you would like to just upgrade your old one, and use it for recreational use, I would still recommend this one. The price is very reasonable. This is a camera I believe I can keep for another 5-8 years.

After purchasing this camera I decided to become more serious about my photography. All in all, I'm glad I invested in this camera. After showing other people all the features and settings, 3 people want to buy it!
