Strength:
Very compact size and weight, fast turning on/focus/low shutter lag, lots of features, good image quality/colour, does PictBridge, live histogram for both taking and reviewing photos, manual focus/exposure compensation/white blanace, macro+super macro,
Weakness:
No autofocus lamp, only 320x240 movie mode, cannot manually adjust shutter speed or aperature Overall I'm very happy with this ultra-compact camera. The one major gripe for me has been the lack of autofocus lamp, meaning I end up with out of focus photos in dim light. The camera has decent manual controls, though the shutter speed and aperature cannot be independently adjusted. The battery life has been extremely good, especially considering it's small size. The camera takes SD/MMC cards, which is one of the cheapest and most widely available formats. Personally, I refuse to buy cameras that use the more proprietary memory formats such as xD and Memory Stick, that can cost almost double yet don't provide any other advantages. For those concerned with having a very compact, stylish, quality camera, I can't think of a better choice. Customer Service Never had to speak with Pentax about the camera, but they're a top tier camera manufacturer, so their customer service is likely very good. |
