Strength:
Fair picture quality. Looks and feels a bit like a 35mm SLR.
Weakness:
Overall a piece of electronic junk. Biggest problem is that the battery cover door WILL disintegrate no matter how carefule you are. Poor battery life. LCD unuseable in sunlight. cheap overall construction. Bought CDS 6300 new about 3 years ago. Good price / features at the time. Worked okay at first. Then started haveing the issue with the battery cover door. The more you changed the batteries, the more the door breaks up! Rubber bands can only do so much to help! Customer Service Non existant! Emailed and called RCA. Can not or will not replace the battery cover door. Will only "exchange" the camera.........for $149.00!!!!! Forget it. Will never buy or recommend any RCA product with this type of "service". DO NOT BUY THIS CAMERA FOR ANY REASON!!!!! Similar Products Used: Several digital cameras owned by other people. |

Strength:
Feels good in your hand, just right for that long toss out the window.
Weakness:
Poor materials, can't see lcd screen in sunlight. Same problem as everyone else, battery door failure. I'm sorry to say I work for RCA-Thomson and bought two of these thru employee online store. Cheap foreign made trash, inferior materials. Customer Service I can't get no satis..., I work for these people but I won't buy any more of their products, sad to say! |

Strength:
Good Picture Quality
Weakness:
Abysmal reliability and customer service Camera takes respectable quality pictures, when it was usable. As others have found, the battery door on these cameras is a very poor design and built with fragile materials. The battery spring pressure alone irreparably damages the locking mechanism. Customer service will not provide a replacement door and once your warrantee expires the camera becomes a paperweight or doorstop. I would not recommend this camera or any product from this manufacturer to a prospective buyer. Customer Service Worst ever dealt with. I honestly believe that this product has a defective design and the lack of any reasonable attempt to remedy known issues is tantamount to fraud on behalf of RCA. |

Strength:
-survives being dropped a few times and once on the concrete. -very easy to learn how to use -the zoom is on the front and very easy to reach, all these new cameras have it on the back, how are ya gonna look through the view finder and zoom your face is in the way?! -Buttons are labeled so you know what's what is what -Good price expecially two years ago 2.3 megapixels was almost the best. -camera is good size, comfortable to hold, not like many of these cameras getting smaller and smaller
Weakness:
-not compatable with XP (but you can get a card reader) -uses lots of batteries (but you can get rechargable) -won't turn on at all unless the card is inside -occasionally locks up whe batteries are nearly dead I have had this camera for two years. This was my first digital camera, and it was very easy to use. It worked with my computer until I upgraded to XP, which it's not compatable with but all I had to do was get a Dazzle card reader. It has been a good camera to me. Customer Service Never had to call. |

Strength:
Easy to use.
Weakness:
Battery door broke twice Locked up for no reason Thompson multimedia is a joke in customer service Camera seemed great for the first month or so. Battery door broke after one change of the batteries, and apparently no reason. Battled with customer service for two months. Waited for replacement camera for another two months. That worked for a while, but now has broken again. They won't touch it now. Stay away from it. Customer Service The worst I've ever dealt with. |

Strength:
Picture quality
Weakness:
Weak construction, poor quality of materials(see battery door complaint) This camera takes great photos, but is hard to use, with a delay in taking the pic after pressing the button. The LCD is worthless and the battery compartment door broke under normal handling. Customer Service There is NO customer service. I have written and called several times and received zero response from Thompson or RCA. No local camera shops can obtain the part. We are stuck duct taping the door shut |

Strength:
picture quality is awesome comes with everything you need lots of options with the different pic modes PRICE!!
Weakness:
lcd isn''t as clear as some others i''ve seen. it doesn''t do well in darker conditions even with a flash. I''ve had this camera since November, and i''ve been pretty impressed so far. I owned a HP Photosmart 215 for about 4 hours before it died after going through 2 sets of batteries. This camera is packed full of features from the case and a/c adapter to 4 different picture taking modes, including burst modes (automatically take 8 separate pics in 2 seconds, or auto. take 16 in 4 seconds stored in one picture). It also has 3x optical and 4x digital zoom Similar Products Used: HP Photosmart 215 |

Strength:
Excellent picture quality. TV Output for slideshows is included. It accepts Type2 CompactFlash cards, which may allow it to run the teeny 1 GB IBM hard drive (I haven''t tried it). USB connection, and also very easy to use.
Weakness:
The LCD display does not seem to auto-adjust to indoor conditions. Outside or under bright light, it works fine. However it''s very dark or even black under dim lights. It works great for reviewing images you''ve just taken, and you should keep the display off anyway to save on batteries. Which brings me to the second downside of the camera. The thing eats batteries faster than rabbits multiply. This camera is an excellent value for the money, since it''s currently on sale at OfficeMax for $199.00. Similar Products Used: none |
