Those aberations

I bought this camera from Dixons in the UK and paid £400 ($600) the best price this camera has been in the UK, as its now near the end of its production. The C3000 has received lots of good reviews, many on this site. I was rather disapointed by this camera, I find the colour fringes (Chromic aberations) it produces between high and low contrast areas of an image, more so at the wide end of the lens unaceptable.

This camera seems to have a lot of good reviews, but I was really disapointed by its performance. The colour fringeing (chromic aberations) between dark and light objects, especially at the wide end of the lens is very bad and ruins many shots with sky backdrops. I''ve ownned other Olympus digital and film cameras and it''s the first time I''ve felt let down.

Very " sexy camera" easy to fall in love with, It looks like a camera and not like a walkman or mp3 player. Well build, great pics and lot''s of features.

controle menu can be complicated to page through. Especially the "Custom menus". Small buffer.

In the process of purchasing a new camera, I took pictures with different models, wrote all those pics on a cd-rom and compared them at home. The Olympus pics where awesome, first time from my hands. It shows that they really know what they are doing there at Olympus, very intuitive and easy to use. no learning curve, most bang for the bug. Great buy!
