Strength:
4 batteries not 2 as with Kodak. Very compact.
Weakness:
Optical Zoom would be good. Debated long and hard before purchasing the HP 318. Price definitely a factor. After taking between 200 and 300 pictures(both outdoor and indoor with different flash settings) concluded that the manual flash is most satisfactory for indoor pictures) Original batteries still strong after this many pictures. Recommend purchasing separate battery charger rather than the expensive HP recharging unit($50). Found nice little unit which charges both either 4 NiCad or NiMH batteries at a time for 19.95 at SAMS. Batteries also included with charger. Although camera does not have Optical Zoon, the Digital Zoom can be manipulated for suitable pictures. Have obtained very satisfactory pictures..some even outstanding..both landscape and close-ups. Although no lense cover with the camera, I found a good cover from a gallon vinegar container. Suggest look for a price $199 or lower and which includes Compact Flash Card(32MB). I’ve seen such an offer. Customer Service None needed yet. |
