Strength:
The reviews I've read about the Urban Disguise 60 spoke to its rugged build and they weren't exaggerated! The material is very tough and well-sewn, and the zippers are tight enough to keep dust out and are protected on the underside to avoid scratching the loaded equipment. Numerous dividers are supplied to create equipment compartments to fit just about any need. Several pouches and small built-in pockets are installed to help manage batteries, memory discs, cords, and all the little things that normally get lost in the bottom of camera bags. There is a small pocket on the back of the Urban Disguise that is perfect for keeping airline tickets, passport, or other paperwork readily accessible, but if needed, both the top and bottom of the pocket can be unzipped to slip over the extended handle of a roller bag when traveling through airports, hotels, etc. A "raincoat" is also supplied to protect the entire bag from rain and snow. The laptop compartment is completely separate from the camera storage, so in a business meeting, I can remove business material and equipment without revealing that I am also carrying photographic gear with me.
Weakness:
Truly, the only weakness I have found is that this bag has so much room, that if I get carried away, it can get really heavy to pack! But then, that's my problem, not Think Tank's! The Urban Disguise 60 perfectly fits a niche for my travel needs. Most of my photography is done during "free time" in my daily work schedule, but packing around separate bags for my camera equipment and my work laptop and supplies gets old really quick. Additionally, I don't like showing up to business meetings while publicly announcing the fact that I have my "toys" along for the ride. The Urban Disguise 60 allows me to pack most of what I need in one bag, and that bag looks like a unpretentious laptop bag, albeit a little overstuffed. In this bag I can carry my laptop and associated cords and accessories, along with my grip-equipped Canon EOS 7D with an EF 100-400 L IS (hood reversed) mounted, grip-equipped Canon EOS 5D with an EF 24-70 L with hood mounted, EF 100L IS Macro (hood reversed), and an Ipad, and still have room for small camera accessories as well as paperwork needed for business. Customer Service Haven't needed it, and hopefully won't! Similar Products Used: Various camera shoulder bags and backpacks, but nothing like this that doesn't bring attention to the fact that I am packing camera gear. |
