from Henry's Summary: When it comes to urban exploration, wide angle is key, you want to be able to capture the entire room sometimes. But more wide angle lens of this rating are very expensive (the Nikon one is about $1,500). So when I was looking I was chatting with a sales rep at Henry's and he suggested I look into the Tamron brand. So I looked it up, and realized that we're talking about a good 800 dollar price difference.
I was sold, pretty much, I was able to use a pile of old gear to trade in to knock a good 500 off the list price.
The lens is sharp (slow to focus, and only a f/4.5) but it's sharp and at 11mm there is no distortion. However the best part of this lens is the fact that it can be used on a film body without any problems. Strengths: - Wide Angle
- Ablity to use it on a Film body without vinetting Weaknesses: - slow auto focus
- f/4.5 is the largest apperature, tripod is required in anything other than bright sunlight Similar Products Used: None Customer Service: None required
