Review 1 of 3

Price Paid:  $900.00 from NDG Photo

Summary:
This is a gem of a lens. Enlargements produce life-like representations of a scene, you feel like you could enter the scene. High-definition and contrast, first-rate mechanical construction. It focuses to 30 cm, permitting even the photography of butterflies on flowers. I try to always shoot on a heavy Manfrotto tripod to fully exploit its potential.

Strengths:
-Extremely sharp lens
-Excellent contrast
-Produces outstanding images
-Enlarges well to large sizes (24 X 30)
-No flare at all
-Resolution practically constant between f/5.6 and f/22
-Good for landscape and architecture

Weaknesses:
-None. The best lens in the Pentax 6X7 line-up by far.

Similar Products Used:
Bronica GS-1 with 65 mm f/4 lens
Old Pentax 6X7 with 55mm f/3.5 lens

Customer Service:
Never needed

Review 2 of 3

Summary:
Since the largest aperature is F4, there is a little bit dimmer at the viewfinder corners. Of course, such dim corners won't happen on the slide images.
The optical quality is good, very little distortion and hard to recognise.
The focus ring is moving smoothly.

Strengths:
Lighter than other 67 or 66 format wide ange lens.

Weaknesses:
None

Pentax 645 FA 45/2.8.

Review 3 of 3

Model Reviewed:
SMCP 67 55mm f/4

Summary:
Sharp, heavy, with a very nice "out of focus" behavior, as well.

Strengths:
All but one of the pictures I've taken with my P67 and had blown up beyond contact sheet are taken with this lens. It may be me, it may be the lens. Who cares?

Weaknesses:
Like anything to do with the P67, it weighs more than you wish to imagine

Similar Products Used:
105 and 165 MM Pentax (non-LS) lenses.
