    Review 1 of 5

Price Paid:  $600.00 from FFordes UK

    Summary:
If you are a landscape photographer then this excellent lens is a very good reason to buy the Pentax 67. Compared with Bronica 67 wide angle this lens is tiny and lightweight. Compared to Hasselblad etc. this lens is a bargain.

    Strengths:
Lightweigh, very small lens for 6x7.
Very good / excellent optical performance.
    1/2 stop clicks.

    Weaknesses:
82mm filter thread leads to expensive filters. I would like to buy the Pentax filters (bayonet mounting) but they are so expensive!!

    Similar Products Used:
    Bronica 40mm E Series.

    Review 2 of 5

Price Paid:  $500.00 from previously owned

    Summary:
An excellent all-around lens for the 67. A top choice for quality photojournalism; especially if you like to work up close to the subject.

    Strengths:
Very light weight, doubly so if the waist level finder is used. Minimal distortion; edge focus is quite good at all f-stops. Contrasty.

    Weaknesses:
All filter brands used (82mm) induce some distortion and flare.

    Similar Products Used:
    Pentax 105mm, 200mm

    Review 3 of 5

    Model Reviewed:
    SMCP 67 45mm f/4

    Summary:
A must have lens in the 67 line up...Wide, but not too wide...the 55 I have heard is also excellent but that angle is too much like the boring 28mm lens in 35 mm format....with the 45 you can always crop to the 55's angle. DONT hesitate to buy this lens

    Strengths:
wonderful lens. Sharpness, contrast and color are all top notch

    Weaknesses:
large filter size, although there is a clip for slip-in rear gelatin filter

    Similar Products Used:
    Pentax 90,105,135,150,165,200 and 300 lenses

    Review 4 of 5

    Model Reviewed:
    SMCP 67 45mm f/4

    Summary:
A perfect lens to compliment the 67 system by Pentax. If you need wide, then this is your lens. I shoot in a lot of cramped situations and this lens can crunch me in no problem. Qulity is top notch. I shot w/ a 500cm and Zeiss lense for over ten years and wanted a system for out of the studio, and Pentax was it. When you shoot w/ Zeiss lenses, then quality is a top priority. Pentax easily rival Zeiss if not surpasses it. Bold statement...you bet, and it's true.

    Strengths:
Pentax affordability and quality. Compact design makes it easy to carry around. Suprisingly low distortion for a wide angle.

    Weaknesses:
Not cheap to buy screw on filters, but I prefer gels most of the time.

    Similar Products Used:
    40CF Zeiss, and others

    Customer Service:
    nope

    Review 5 of 5

    Model Reviewed:
    SMCP 67 45mm f/4

    Summary:
If you want WIDE in 6 x 7 this is a really good way to go.

    Strengths:
Surprisingly light and compact for a 67 lens. Excellent contrast and resolution from f5.6 to f22. Very low rectilinear distortion and fairly good flare resistance. Colour transmission and saturation (Provia/Velvia) truly excellent.

    Weaknesses:
82MM filter thread! With 88 degree diagonal angle of view feels more like a 20mm than the theoretical 24mm that it equates to.

    Similar Products Used:
    55mm for C330S and 65mm for original RB67 Pro S.

    Customer Service:
    Not tried yet.
