from EBAY Summary: I work at the AV Dept at an University. I'm a student BBA and on a tight budget. We have Hi8s in our dept but i was lokng for something more high tech. I decide on the PV-DV101, becauseof the price. I found that the pv-dv201, 401 and 601, just had more options. The picture Q, is excellent in rooms with god light and great outside. In darkness there was grainess. Low light is never a friend of the video Cam. If you want a cheap but good Cam try the Panasonic 101 or higher. Some things to look for the CCD at 680,000, 20X zoom. Strengths: 680,000 CCD, picture is really clear. The remote control (i had to buy that). The Price. Weaknesses: Not too good in the dark. Similar Products Used: Sony HI 8, ws ok, PV-DV601 and the 401, 201, just more options, no video difference. The 601 has a cool see in the dark option, i liked that. Sharp 450, stay away form the cam, low Q picture. Customer Service: NA
